"Yes we can can!" said Little Nicola.

It might even have been an advantage. Who knows how many more records he

could have sold if she was only nine years old. It's all water over the dam now.

What's interesting is that Lewis' late 1950s rock songs were more successful

on both the Country and R&B charts than they were on the Hot 100 one.

Thanks, Bilge baby, for posting that great Kinks tune. And two videos for the price of one! Apeman is a fun little rocker. Also from that same album, Lola Versus Powerman and the MoneygoRound comes the Dave Davies song, Strangers. I think this was used in Wes Anderson's film *The Darjeeling LImited*, but I've not seen that movie so I'm not sure. Here's *Strangers*:

I got a kick out of that early "music video," and some of the clothes

too. Lola Vs.,etc. is my favorite Kinks' album, taking into account

I don't have many of them, especially the early ones. One fine song

after another.

Or "Too Much Monkey Business" by any number of musicians. Or "One Monkey Don't Stop No Show", ditto for the musicians. Or "Monkey Man" by the Rolling Stones. Maybe I'm showing off a bit, although I suppose it's not very flattering to me to know so many tunes with references to primates.

It's very hot in southern Ontario today and that means it's time to Cool It Down:

Can't do any better than Lou and the boys ( and 1 girl; 2 sometimes)

who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds. Sorry about

Oops. I guess WMG has decided to cool it down completely. I recall

the title Monkey Time by Major Lance. Who could forget that? But

I've never actually heard the song.

I think I get it, though bicycle racing isn't exactly one of my favorite "sports."

Today just isn't my day.

Kraftwerk released an album about the Tour de France. Not one of their better

efforts. They should have stuck with cars.
