Nash looked great and still played a mean guitar--the 2 of them have just released a new CD. I didn't see them on Jimmy Fallon last night, but I did see all four of them ie, Crosby Stills Nash and Young, live in Toronto, in 2002. I had great seats and they were fantastic. misswonderly3
Well, to segue from Bob Dylan to Neil Young...Dylan's got a song on one of his latter-day albums ( Time Out of Mind ) in which he tells of listening to Neil Young while a neighbour demands that he turn it down. So, here's a famous Neil Young song - very anthemic. Keep on Rocking in the Free World , baby:
DownGoesFrazier
This is the best of Neil Young's latter-day songs. Thanks, Cinemaven, for posting it.

cujas
I heard on the car radio that your Funkadelic (sp) idol was during a show in Kansas. Suppose to be some kind a Funk revival--I not a fan--George somebody or other. I've heard you talk about him. Had you heard about this on the East Coast? We had, until recently, a local music/headshop called Dingleberry's (yes, I know, ewww, but i think it was around before the more recent meaning of the word) and they referred to them as C, S, N and (sometmes) Y. Used to make me laugh everytime I went in there.
traceyk65
Followed the Sheryl Crow link from a few days ago and found these two videos from what must be from an Eric Clapton and Friends show? misswonderly3
Thanks, tracey. As you say, both of them very nice. Like the obnoxious kid in the class who just can't shut up, I cannot refrain from noting that Eric Clapton is technically half-Canadian. His father was a Canadian soldier stationed in England during World War ll who got friendly with Eric's mother. After the war, Mr. Eric's Dad returned to Canada, remaining a soldier all his life. Apparently Eric met him once, when the dad was stationed in Germany (obviously long after the war.) This is one of my little-known facts that is actually true. misswonderly3
Radiohead produced one of the best albums ever in 1997, OK Computer . It's full of melodic, musically complex tracks with an overall tone of melancholy and alienation. In fact, it probably enjoys the distinction of being possibly the most depressing greatest album of all time. (I mean, if there were a list of great depressing albums, it would be right up there. A mixed blessing, I suppose.) So, here's a very different Subterranean Homesick song. Not a cover, utterly different from the Dylan song to which the title alludes. Still, a lovely plaintive tune and masterful musicianship, especially from drummer Phil Selway. Subterranean Homesick Alien : (C.B., I have a feeling you may have posted this, quite a while ago. If so, sorry for the repetition.) Edited by: misswonderly on May 30, 2011 10:52 AM

C.Bogle
I never knew about E.C.'s Maple Leaf connection, interesting. I think I read somewhere he had a stepfather, but never paid it much attention. That is one of my favorite Radiohead albums, though most of them are pretty good. I'll have to go back for a revisit, because I haven't listened to many of them lately. Joy Division wasn't exactly a barrel of laughs, and then there was Black Sabbath, though their depression was a lot less subtle. Now we smoke poppies. . I remember when I was a kid you'd see more people wearing red ones. Now they're a lot less prevalent, though you'll see one once in a while. Memorial Day used to be known as Decoration Day, but that name was eclipsed.
