CinemaInternational
Before I get underway on this newest montage, I wanted to point out I am archiving all the Fox ones (so far 1935-1947) slowly but surely at this blog page I started. https://hollywoodhistoryinpictures.wordpress.com/ Now onto UA..... The Other was a German crime film. Lummox was a drama from a book by Fanny Hurst. Fannie Brice made a rare big screen appearance in Be Yourself. Joan Bennett appeared in the musical Puttin' on the Ritz Lupe Velez was in for a hot time in island living.... Dolores Del Rio appeared in a musical called The Bad One. Lillian Gish made her talkie debut in One Romantic Night. Although she was the lead here, she would not have another leading role until her final one, The Whales of August in 1987. Ronald Colman and Kay Francis starred in Raffles, the saga of a gentleman thief. It was charming enough. This is all that is left of The Eyes of the World. It's long gone. Another lost film followed. Not even Gloria Swanson starring could prevent it from becoming lost. Whoopee was an early color musical with Eddie Cantor. Norma Talmadge became the notorious DuBerry Woman of Passion. Walter Huston played Abraham Lincoln for DW Griffith. It had its interesting moments. Chester Morris was in the mystery The Bat Whispers Hell's angels with its long aerial battles was one of the most expensive films made up to that time.... if not the most expensive. Jeanette McDonald was in another musical mood..... Ronald Colman and Loretta Young were an item in The Devil to Pay. Myrna Loy also appeared. Fairbanks appeared in Reaching for the Moon which partially survives. Most modern prints are 20 minutes shorter than the original. 4
TopBilled
You've done a very nice job with your blog! *** THE LOTTERY BRIDE is a fun film. THE BAT WHISPERS is considered by some to be a precursor to the Batman series. I agree that ABRAHAM LINCOLN has its moments, even if it's not entirely successful. LUMMOX seems interesting. Never heard of it before. RAFFLES is decent. But I prefer the 1939 remake, also by UA, with David Niven and Olivia De Havilland.

Thanks for taking the time to do all that work. I used to own: The MGM Story, The United Artists Story, The WB Story and The RKO Story. All were destroyed in a flood, so this is really nice to review!
LawrenceA
Hell's Angels The Bat Whispers Raffles The Devil to Pay Reaching for the Moon I've also seen Abraham Lincoln. I didn't care for it at all. Not much to say about the rest. I put Hell's Angels on top purely for the aerial footage.
