Do you agree with Sinatra regarding his 1955 Man With the Golden Arm>

Recommended Posts

Ironically it's on the network right now  *The Chairman of the Board: Frank Sinatra's" 1955 classic, 2nd and final shot at another Academy Award The Man With the Golden Arm by Preminger  (***1/2)

to his last days *Frank insisted this was his finest hour of a performance, do you agree?

I barely vote for '54's Thriller  Suddenly (3 &1/2) (snubbed of a leading nod)

Al justifiably speak of 1939 as Hollywoods Greatest Year-(there is a dvd on amazon, or a book by the way)

But '55 rates just under it & then 1962  Just look at who was up for Best actor for 1955> *Borgnine in Marty-(won), James Cagney, Love Me or Leave Me, Spencer Tracy in Bad Day at Black Rock & James Dean in East of Eden   Outrageously the brilliant Night of the Hunter was totally left out in the cold
