My guess is you voted for both Bushes too. People need to take responsibility for the mess that is the Republican party and that has been taking America down the wrong road in the Oval Office since Ronald Reagan. You don't just wake up one day with a monster like trump in the White House. The Republican party has been on the way to the depths of hell for a long time, promoting racism and misogyny and homophobia at every turn. I turned against the Bushes once Bush Sr made that famous New World Order speech. I don't like globalist Republican and Democrat alike! Saddam was defeated during the 1991 war and had no capability to repeat history. Local NATO bases and aircraft carriers could had easily dealt with any future problems Saddam cause to his neighbors. Sepiatone
Trump has too much wrapped up in business holdings in Turkey for him to be taken serious when he puffs up indignantly about what he "threatens" to do. Sepiatone Just as Trump gave the Saudi Crown Prince a free pass for the murder and dismemberment of Khashoggi, this trouble with Turkey will conveniently pass as well. Meanwhile the death toll in Yemen is now 233,000 from the Saudi bombing campaign supported by the U.S. and Great Britain.

mr6666
Brett McGurk @brett_mcgurk Turkish forces have fired on a declared U.S. military outpost in northern Syria. Turkey knows all of our locations down to the precise grid coordinate as confirmed by SECDEF and CJCS only two hours ago. This was not a mistake. Secretary Mnuchin today briefed from the WH podium that Trump signed an authorization to impose sanctions but that no sanctions have been imposed. This is meaningless nonsense. 100k people are already displaced and US soldiers are being fired upon. What’s the bar for sanctions? Hard truth: Erdogan knows that Trump wants U.S. forces to leave Syria. Putin knows that Trump wants U.S. forces to leave Syria. Khamenei and Assad know the same thing. Trump himself yesterday (incredibly) said we no longer have forces in Syria. We do, and today they were shot at..... see: https://twitter.com/brett_mcgurk/status/1182756792675139584 3:36 PM · Oct 11, 2019
Bogie56
Trump is sending an additional 1,800 troops to Saudi Arabia to 'prevent Iranian aggression.' Hmm ... Doesn't Saudi Arabia have their own very big army? And wasn't Trump vowing to pull out of the Middle East just this same week when he abandoned the Kurds in Syria? This is a very big win for Vladimir Putin. It sounds very much like the 'art of the deal' when it comes to dictators. 1

ElCid
One aspect of the Turkish situation is that the US is heavily dependent upon access to Incirlik Air Base in Turkey. Many of the flights in support of operations in Iraq and Afghanistan as well as rest of Middle East either originate or pass through the base. US also operates refueling planes out of Incirlik. This may restrict just how much Trump is willing to do to Turkey.

Bogie56
Exclusive: Military leader of Syrian Kurds tells US 'you are leaving us to be slaughtered' By Barbara Starr and Ryan Browne, CNN (CNN)The commander of the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces told a senior US diplomat, "You are leaving us to be slaughtered," demanding to know whether the US is going to do anything to protect Syrian Kurds as Turkey continues its military operation targeting America's Kurdish allies in Syria. "You have given up on us. You are leaving us to be slaughtered," Gen. Mazloum Kobani Abdi told the Deputy Special Envoy to the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS, William Roebuck, in a meeting Thursday, according to an internal US government readout that has been obtained exclusively by CNN. "You are not willing to protect the people, but you do not want another force to come and protect us. You have sold us. This is immoral," Mazloum added. He insisted the US either help stop the Turkish attack or allow the Syrian Democratic Forces to strike a deal with the Assad regime in Damascus and their Russian backers, allowing Russian warplanes to enforce a no-fly zone over northeast Syria, thereby denying Turkey the ability to carry out airstrikes. The US does not want the Kurds turning to the Russians, administration officials say. READ: The government document of meeting between US and military leader of Syrian Kurds "I need to know if you are capable of protecting my people, of stopping these bombs falling on us or not. I need to know, because if you're not, I need to make a deal with Russia and the regime now and invite their planes to protect this region," Mazloum said. 1

Yeh, but Trump feels so much better that those escaped ISIS members will, he guesses, strike Europe rather than America. What kind of a man, responsible for this tragedy, talks cold bloodedly about potential deaths from terrorism in Europe as a result of these ISIS escapes? Are the Europeans America's enemy?
