In #corpuschristi, a parolee out of juvie impersonates a priest in a small, grieving Polish town and turns out to be pretty good at the job. Gritty, funny, honest and unpredictable enough to subvert redemption story cliches, if not all its Jesus allegories.

#InvisibleMan        is a near-perfectly made horror thriller: great tension-building, shocks and a topnotch #ElisabethMoss performance. Writer-director #LeighWhannell makes it all a marvelous #MeToo MeToo_v3.png
allegory without ever explicitly indicating so. Visually deft, too, as it better be.

Over the past several years, many horror pics have struggled domestically but #TheInvisibleManInvisibleManCustom_Emoji_Flight2.png bucks that trend. The film has already earned more domestically than Blumhouse and Sony's 'Fantasy Island,' which finished its third weekend with $24.2 million

At the specialty box office, #Parasite continued to feast on its Oscar wins, earning $1.5 million for a domestic total of $51.6 million. Only three other non-English-language films have crossed the $50 million mark in U.S. ticket sales

#TheBanker, which recounts the true story of African-American financial geniuses who had a white guy front some of their businesses in the racist, '60s South, is better and much smarter than #GreenBook. Has a similarly mushy, middlebrow vibe, though. Quite informative, overall.

#theburntorangeheresy is great - for the 1st 1/2 hour. Super sexy, witty, sophisticated. But as its Euro art forgery thriller plot kicks in, the film's talkiness grows pretentious and suppresses would should be a fundamentally visual movie experience.
