New restoration of #ElemKlimov's 1985 #ComeAndSee is a, well, must-see. Following a Soviet teenager's horrifically surreal odyssey through WW II's Eastern Front, it's one of the most harrowing war films ever made. Delicate sensibilities are no excuse for missing this masterpiece.

Irish supernatural comedy #ExtraOrdinary seems to think it's more outrageous than it is. Lead actress #MaeveHiggins has a sweetly offhand way of making the looniest things come off adorably (that's meant as a compliment). Wish the movie was as clever as her unique presence.

#KellyReichardt's #FirstCow distills most of the auteur's strengths and weaknesses - not particularly interesting, marginalized characters' connections and efforts to get along against unforgiving capitalism - in the 19th Century Oregon wilderness. A few great scenes, mostly not.

#GoBacktoChina isn't some up-to-the-minute reactionary screed, but actually a charming comedy about a Chinese-American party girl whose toymaker dad cuts off the funds, forcing her to do the title thing - and reluctantly grow an aptitude for the family business. Well-observed.

#KenLoach's latest working class tragedy, #SorryWeMissedYou, nicely dramatizes & even finds good comic relief in the gig economy's destructive effect on one English delivery driver's family. Climaxes melodramatically, but mostly believable, relatable, entrapped folks getting by.

#HaleyBennett plays a pregnant, comfortably cloistered wife who compulsively gulps down dangerous objects in #Swallow. I'm told it's a real psychological condition. The semi-opaque character's motivation here seems simple for awhile, then gets awfully, unconvincingly complicated.

Family animated offering #Onward Pixar_Onward_TwoBrothers_2020.png opened to a muted $40 million from 4,310 theaters in North America, one of the lowest nationwide starts for the storied Pixar brand

It's unclear how much of an impact worries over the coronavirus had on moviegoing in the U.S. this weekend, or whether #Onward Pixar_Onward_TwoBrothers_2020.png faced its own challenges
While the film received strong reviews and an 86 percent "fresh" score on Rotten Tomatoes, it had only been tracking for a domestic launch in the $40 million to $45 million range even before the coronavirus became a global epidemic

Universal and Blumhouse's #TheInvisibleMan      fell to No. 2 in its second weekend, declining a relatively narrow 46 percent to $15.2 million from 3,610 locations for a 10-day domestic tally of $52.9 million

Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, who have tested positive for coronavirus, are in Australia for production of Baz Luhrmann’s untitled Elvis Presley movie. The couple are the only known individuals on the film to contract the disease

Hanks says he and his wife "will be tested observed, and isolated for as long as public health and safety requires. Not much more to it than a one-day-at-a-time approach, no?"

Disney's "Mulan," potentially one of the biggest blockbusters of the year, has been delayed because of the coronavirus. The live-action remake of the beloved 1998 animated film about a Chinese female warrior was set to debut in North America on March 27.

I think Hollywood can take the hit but I don't think Broadway can do so as easily.  :(

Well, there's an argument that Broadway productions can always be staged, but certain movies have a limited window for success. Since "Mulan" was expected to be a worldwide blockbuster for Disney, it's a major disappointment that the film won't be shown at worldwide theaters simultaneously.
