#FORDvFERRARI DisneyFordVFerrari_Emoji.png has some of the best racing sequences I've ever seen, slung low and puts you right in the seat. Otherwise, it's another one of the year's macho buddy movies, tricked out with dubious history and fakey, crowd-pleasing character wheelies.

Economic injustice, forbidden love, African ghost story, weird detective, refugee tragedy and other elements are all woven seamlessly, expertly and with moving panache in #MatiDiop's beyond impressive feature-directing debut #Atlantics. Did I mention it looks great, too?

In #Waves, a suburban African-American family goes through hell - some of it racially based, most of it due to individuals' characters - then gingerly moves toward valid states of forgiveness. Lots of lovely and searing moments, a few missteps. Varied, superb acting throughout.
