Missed Buddy Buddy (thought it was The Odd Couple - but Jack Lemmon doesn't step out on the ledge)  - excuse previous post

Saw 1592, 1594, 1593, 1597 and 1600  Think I saw Buddy Buddy

They would do a sequel for The Odd Couple in the 90s, which wasn't very memorable.

1586,  1588 and 1590 are the only ones I recognize.

1586 I like really well. 1588 is watchable thanks to the teaming of Sidney Poitier and James Garner.

1590 is pretty good, but I can't bring myself to watch it anymore, knowing it's Natalie's last film.

At the risk of reviving some old controversy of her death, I'll just say that she left this Earth too soon. I think she still had many worthy performances within her before her unexpected passing.

she died nov. 29th, 1981 but this wasn't released until '83

Well TB, so we are in a biopic kind of mood today I see.

1601 - Incendiary Blonde

1602 - ???

1603 - The Joker is Wild

1604 - Jeanne Eagels

1605 ???

1606 - Funny Girl

1607 - Lenny

1608 - Frances (1982)

1609 - Man on the Moon

1610- Ray

I can't even tell who the actors are in 1602  & 1605 or I could wager a guess.  I've seen all I named except 1606 (It could be either Funny Lady or Funny Girl) because I just can't stand Barbara Streisand.

Most of these have already been identified. I think I could have guessed the titles correctly for all the ones in the post above except for Jeanne Engels probably.  The ones LSDoorMat was unable to guess, I don't know either. 1606 is definitely Funny Girl and not the sequel. That shot is from her pre-stardom days when she was still dressing awkwardly.

I've seen Incendiary BlondeFunny Girl, Frances, Man on the Moon and Ray, so five.

TB - In reference to a quiz you posted the other day, hats off for naming "The Milkman"! That is an obscure one from Universal I believe.  It probably hasn't been seen anywhere since AMC was in a classic movie format. Unless it is on youtube.

Thanks LsDM. Yes, I love that film. Jimmy Durante's never been Star of the Month or had a Summer Under the Stars day. They have all of his MGM films in the TCM library...so it would be easy to program a tribute. And it would be nice if they borrowed THE MILKMAN from Universal. It's a very pleasing comedy.

SPOILER WARNINGS TO ALL WHO WANT TO GUESS.

This one is hard:

1611  .       The Racket
1612.      Polly of the Circus
1613.        Story of Louis Pasteur
1614.         Kitty
1615.         Macbeth
1616.         Throne of Blood
1617.         Clam Bake
1618.           They Only Kill Their Masters
1619.         The Outsiders
1620.           Born on the Fourth of July???

Yes to all except Clam Bake because Elvis movies are very derivative.  Yes to 1620 if it is Born on the Fourth of July, but I am very much guessing because I do not recognize the actor.

Great job.

1617 is another Elvis flick from that period.

The actor in 1620 is Eric Stoltz.

Then 1620 has to be Waterdance (1992). I didn't recognize Mr.Stoltz.  I've seen this.

1617 - Elvis made three with Shelley Fabares.  And the picture you show looks like they are standing in front of a giant clam shell. Hmm. If it is not Clam Bake then I'll guess Spinout. But I am only guessing.

You know what, I think you're right. When I found that photo online it was labeled as being a still from GIRL HAPPY. But yes, it does look like a clam shell in the background. So that's fine, I'll make sure to notate the change when I post the answers later. Thank you!
