Trump appears to be parroting Fox News “medical A Team” here. Fox’s Marc Siegel made this claim during Tucker’s show (which is on just before Hannity’s).

Trump’s interview on Hannity last night - in which he suggests only states which “treat us well” will get desperately needed coronavirus aid - is a textbook authoritarian response to a crisis.

As @ruthbenghiat explained to me, the authoritarian’s concern is never about human life. It is about loyalty and power.

trump is supposed to be The leader and representative  for  all Americans.

Americans are dying in New York and trump doesn't seem to care.

He seems to think that only Americans or their representatives who bow and scrape to him deserve Constitutional Civil Rights.

Americans are dying, and this president-- is going to recognize or give top service to those who

"treat us well".

trump's inhumane treatment of Puerto Rico was a harbinger of this crude attitude.

A sociopath who has no ability for empathy is the worst person to vote for to be president of the United States.

A 16 year -old French High School Student Dies from the Coronavirus

I just read from my online French news feed that a 16 year- old girl from the Paris suburbs, who had no underlying health problems, has died from the coronavirus.

Her shocked mother said that only a week ago her daughter had  developed a simple cough, which later got much worse. When she was taken to the doctor, he immediately called for her to be hospitalized  at a children's hospital in Paris.

The Parisian doctors could do nothing to save her.

Poor or next to  no executive leadership in the federal government is what leads to a disastrous situation like what we're currently experiencing with the Coronavirus pandemic.

It didn't have to be this way.

Gov McMaster, US Sens. Graham and Scott of S.C. are having a briefing on TV.  All three are Republicans.  Gov. has briefing every day.  All three are falling all other themselves saying how well "President Trump" is doing and how successful he has been.  When questioned, they "deflect" any negative questions about Trump.  Try to say that Trump didn't mean or actually say things we know he did.

Enough to make you gag.

Evangelicals and other anti-abortionist are using the bans on elective surgery to get state governments to prohibit abortions.  They have now requested that S.C. ban them as being "elective."

What they really want is to cause the clinics to go out of business or to shut down and not reopen.  Also for the women to pass the dates when they can legally get an abortion.

Trump speaking about the specific governors who bother him saying: "I tell Mike [Pence] don't call the governor in WA, don't call the woman in Michigan." The President of the United States just referred to the Governor of Michigan, Gretchen Whitmer, as "the woman in Michigan."

Don't miss what Trump is saying.

He is willing to let the people of Michigan and Washington die simply because the governors did not bow and cringe and tell him how great he is. Instead, they focused on the needs of their state residents.

The psychosis of this guy is unreal.

Slavoj Zizek’s Covid-19 lockdown survival guide: Guilty pleasures, Valhalla Murders & pretending it's just a game

These “ineffective symbolizations” already assumed many forms – the best known of them is US President Donald Trump’s call to ignore the risks and get America back to work. Such acts are much worse than shouting and clapping while watching a soccer match in front of your home TV, acting like you can magically influence the outcome. But this does not mean we are helpless: we can get out of this deadlock before science will provide the technical means to constrain the virus.

How not to give in to paranoia

Here is what Tupinamba says: “The fact that doctors who are in the frontline of the pandemic, people creating mutual aid systems in peripheral communities, etc., are less likely to give in to crazy paranoias, suggests to me that there is a ‘collateral’ subjective benefit to certain forms of political work today. It seems that politics done through certain mediations – and the State is often the only available means here, but I think this might be contingent – not only provides us with the means to change the situation, but also to give the proper form to the things we have lost.”

In the UK, more than 400,000 young healthy people volunteered to help those in need – a good step in this direction.

Fox News’ Brit Hume: It’s ‘Entirely Reasonable’ the Elderly Would Want to Die to Save Economy
The Wrap
Lindsey Ellefson
,The Wrap•March 25, 2020

Fox News’ Brit Hume defended comments from Texas lieutenant governor Dan Patrick Tuesday night, saying it is “entirely reasonable” that elderly Americans could be fine with dying amid the coronavirus outbreak to save the U.S. economy.

“The utter collapse of the country’s economy — which many think will happen if this goes on much longer — is an intolerable result,” the 76-year-old told primetime host Tucker Carlson. “[Patrick] is saying, for his own part, that he would be willing to take a risk of getting the disease if that’s what it took to allow the economy to move forward. He said that because he is late in life, that he would be perhaps more willing than he might have been at a younger age, which seems to me to be an entirely reasonable viewpoint.”

Patrick sent shockwaves through viewers Monday night when the 63-year-old said on Carlson’s program, “No one reached out to me and said, ‘As a senior citizen, are you willing to take a chance on your survival in exchange for keeping the America that all America loves for your children and grandchildren?’ And if that’s the exchange, I’m all in.”

Patrick explained he wants the country to “get back to work” and spoke for older Americans: “We’ll take care of ourselves.”

On Tuesday, Carlson asked Hume what about that idea “enrages” people. Hume said he couldn’t read minds, but had a theory the reaction had something to do with President Donald Trump and partisanship.

“We are living in a country in which people’s reactions to nearly everything have something to do, when you drill down, with how they feel about Donald Trump and to the extent that what the lieutenant governor said on your air last night is similar to the overall message to what Donald Trump has been saying, I think some of the reaction to it may flow from that,” he suggested.

Earlier Monday, Trump expressed his desire to have Americans back to work by Easter, which falls on April 12.

Last night Dan Patrick said grandparents would be willing to die to save the economy. Tonight Brit Hume said its "an entirely reasonable viewpoint" pic.twitter.com/pArEpeXpsu
