Trump propagandists misled millions of Americans into believing the medical community’s fears of the Coronavirus was an overblown hoax. They’re at it again. Millions of Americans are sadly still buying into these dangerous lies. I pray for their health and their loved ones.

Yes, some trump supporters are planning these Liberate the country riots in states with Democratic governors and we'll see what happens when they break the law.

I don't think anybody's fooled.

Suicide has never been that culturally popular in the United States.

Gov. Whitmer on ABC: "There's a price that's paid and I know that there are a lot of businesses and people that are hurting right now but the fact of the matter is, it's better to be six feet apart than six feet under and that is the whole point of this. We've got to save lives."

".......Fox News’s coverage might give you the idea that these protesters represent the views of a significant chunk of people in their states. But polling indicates that’s not the case. For instance, a YouGov/Economist poll released Wednesday found that

61 percent of Americans think Trump should institute a nationwide stay-at-home order, compared to just 22 percent who are opposed. Along the same lines, polling from the Pew Research Central released on Thursday showed that 66 percent of people are concerned their state governments will relax social distancing restrictions too soon, compared to just 32 percent who are worried they won’t move quickly enough.........

asked on Thursday if he thinks protesters in Michigan should listen to local officials like Whitmer, Trump said that such people listen to him instead.

“I think they’re listening. I think they listen to me. They seem to be protesters that like me,” Trump said. .......

One shudders to contemplate what sorts of actions right-wing protesters might take if they interpret Trump’s call for them to “LIBERATE” their states seriously."

<_<

However, the threat of violence from the extreme right-wing Neo-Nazi Ku Klux Klan types should never be underestimated.

I'm just waiting for the tick torch Nazi marches to start.  Remember Trump's disgusting response to that one?

When you consider all the Americans who are dying and suffering right now,

It's unbelievable that a president would try to add to the chaos and confusion.

But I'm definitely beginning to understand when the psychiatrists tell you that a sociopath has no empathy.

And along with that, trump's behavior is primarily led by his own narcissistic needs and goals.

The president’s statements this morning encourage illegal and dangerous acts. He is putting millions of people in danger of contracting COVID-19. His unhinged rantings and calls for people to “liberate” states could also lead to violence. We’ve seen it before.

The president is fomenting domestic rebellion and spreading lies - even while his own administration says the virus is real, it is deadly and we have a long way to go before restrictions can be lifted.

Yesterday, the president told the nation science would guide his plan for easing restrictions. The White House released a sensible plan to resume economic activity.

24 hrs later he is off the rails, ignoring his own plan and spewing dangerous, anti-democratic rhetoric.

The president’s actions threaten his own goal of recovery. His words will likely cause a spike in infections where distancing is working.

That will further postpose the 14 days of decline his own guidance says is necessary to ease restrictions.

We appreciate our continued relationship with the vice president, Dr. Birx, Admiral Polowczyk, Admiral Giroir and others.

But their work is undermined by the president's irresponsible actions.

I hope someday we can look at today’s meltdown as something to be pitied, rather than condemned.

But we don’t have that luxury today. There is too much at stake.

I encourage political leaders to speak out firmly against the president’s calls for rebellion.

Americans need to work together to protect each other. That’s what is working in WA.

And it’s the only way to slow the spread of this virus and get us on the road to recovery.

Here is the governor of one of the 50 states correctly noting that the president is encouraging violence. How on earth do his supporters defend this?

It is extraordinary to hear the @VP urge states to follow the guidance for re-opening released yesterday at the very same time the @POTUS is tweeting encouragement to protesters who demand that states reopen right away. (Only in states led by Democrats.)

Nearly 7,000 people have died of coronavirus in US nursing homes

........."They’re death pits,” Betsy McCaughey, former lieutenant governor of New York who founded the Committee to Reduce Infection Deaths, told the Times.

“These nursing homes are already overwhelmed. They’re crowded and they’re understaffed. One Covid-positive patient in a nursing home produces carnage.”

The U.S. has about 15,600 nursing homes with 1.3 million residents, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Early on, public health officials warned that the elderly and immune-compromised are particularly at risk of dying from the virus. ..........

Overall people where we live are making a concerted effort to comply with the restrictions.  (Everything non-essential is closed.)  But as time drags on and the weather improves its seems people are getting  a little squirrelly:

Last weekend, a well-intentioned neighbor posted on the local FB page that his family was going to hand out homemade food at 4 pm last Saturday.  This was not a distribution for people in real need just to people in our neighborhood as a friendly gesture.   Sure enough there were lines of people in cars and on foot lining the street to get the homemade goodies.   He meant well but this seems like something you'd do after the restrictions are lifted.

Also, early this morning on our local trails, we ran into what appears to be some kind of makeshift  5k/10k run with clusters of runners taking over the trails.  There are even signs posted as distance markers.

Some White House advisers are relieved that Trump is delegating the coronavirus reopening to the governors so heavily because it spreads responsibility away from the federal government.

trump's advisors know that he's not up to the task of making decisions about a national crisis like an American president is supposed to do.

Cheering protests against social distancing, Rush Limbaugh likens risks from opening the economy to risks of fighting in world wars

2:58 PM · Apr 17, 2020·TweetDeck

Let's see now, first this Entertainer said that the coronavirus pandemic was no different from the common cold.

Well, looking at thousands of Americans dead from coronavirus that was obviously not true--

AKA as a lie.

Now Entertainer Limbaugh says that opening up the country during the coronavirus pandemic is the same as fighting in World War II.

You can't have it both ways.

I know Limbaugh is just an Entertainer and not a credible journalist or in the medical profession.

But I don't believe you have to have a college degree or a postgraduate diploma to know that--

fighting fascism and racism in World War II isn't the same thing as defying a stay-at-home executive order--

which was put in place not just to save your life but to save the lives of other Americans.

People like Entertainer Limbaugh manipulate the gullible, the racist, and the downright fanatical.

But, you won't see Limbaugh, Hannity, Laura Ingraham, or Tucker Carlson dirtying their expensive designer attire or risking their lives on the front lines with the people they manipulate into doing these ridiculously unlawful and dangerous deeds.
