Coronavirus Epidemic

Recommended Posts

Every single problem we’re dealing with now stems from the fact that we never actually suppressed the virus
and then put the infrastructure in place to keep it suppressed.

It’s like we’re trying to figure out a way to live in a burning building

It doesn’t work.

California Governor Gavin Newsom announced that a record-high daily increase in coronavirus cases had hit the Golden State with 11,694 cases

And a little National Guidance and National Unity on the subject of masks would really help out some of these states who are experiencing spikes in covid-19 cases.

Cases that will infect hundreds of others , which will eventually lead to  skyrocketing hospitalizations  and deaths--

which may in turn annihilate  their state hospital/healthcare systems.

Sorry,  I"m not buying that line about national guidance.     Newsom took charge early and CA was doing great.   He changed mainly because of the sizable illegal immigration population.   (10% of all workers in the state).      They were not entitled to any Federal money (rightfully so IMO),  and Newsom signed a bill that provided 500 million for them.  This money was used-up within less than an hour!!!!

Newsom couldn't get the billions needed to fund these illegal immigrants (even the very much pro-illegal immigrants Dems in the state knew that asking for more and more from  CA citizens already facing hardship due to C-19 for illegal immigrants,  was asking too much),   so the only option was to open up the type of non-essential businesses were the vast majority of illegal immigrants work.

This is what happens when there are cities in a state where the majority of residences  are illegal immigrants!      There have always been federal guidelines on illegal immigration and CA leaders decide to ignore them.

This issue about people dying at home of coronavirus and it not being counted because they never went to the hospital was discussed at length in New York by Governor Cuomo, what seems like 2 years ago.

But it was actually probably only 2 months ago.

If you want to know how bad a second Trump term would get, remember that Donald Trump already figured out a way to have the worst response to Covid-19 in the rich world, twice.

Trump complained on Hannity tonight that the media keeps reporting on coronavirus cases. He said, "All the time, 'cases.' And those cases get better. In most -- most cases -- in almost -- I mean, literally, in most cases, they automatically cure. They automatically get better."

 Dead Americans from Covid-19

The dead, the sick, their family and friends, the struggling medical personnel in the hospitals, the struggling unemployed Americans, the struggling governors and their overtaxed state and county health departments--

A little compassion, understanding and a lot of national executive management could go a long ways to ease this National suffering.

Pathologist found blood clots in 'almost every organ' during autopsies on Covid-19 patients

"And this was dramatic, because though we might have expected it in the lungs, we found it in almost every organ that we looked at in our autopsy study," she said. Rapkiewicz's study outlining her findings was published at the end of June in The Lancet journal EClinicalMedicine.
The autopsies also showed something unusual about megakaryocytes, or large bone marrow cells. They usually don't circulate outside the bones and lungs, Rapkiewicz said.

"We found them in the heart and the kidneys and the liver and other organs," she said. "Notably in the heart, ................

WASHINGTON - The U.S. congressman who wants a plan to ease travel restrictions at the Canada-U.S. border is taking the ensuing backlash in stride.

Rep. Brian Higgins got an earful from Canadian Twitter users when he tweeted details of his bipartisan call on both countries to start talking about how best to begin reopening the border.

Higgins, a New York Democrat, says he doesn't blame Canadians for wanting to keep Americans out, considering the failure of the Trump administration to contain the COVID-19 outbreak.

But he says the damaging border restrictions can be gradually eased without jeopardizing public health, and he and other members of Congress from northern border states will keep pressing their case.

A recent online poll by Leger and the Association for Canadian Studies found 86 per cent of respondents in Canada opposed to letting U.S. tourists north of the border, compared with 11 per cent who supported it.

The current border restrictions are due to expire July 21, but the fresh surge in COVID-19 cases in the U.S. makes it all but certain they will be extended before then.

The governor of S.C. has prohibited bars, nightclubs, restaurants and similar from selling alcohol after 11:00 PM.  Convenience stores and grocery stores can continue to sell it.

He more or less admitted that expecting people and business owners to do the right thing is a mistake.  S.C. now is in top 3 states for spread.

Trump's indoor rally is likely to be a much bigger coronavirus hotspot than any outdoor protest

Both rallies and protests involve large crowds, standing close together, which means people could presumably catch the coronavirus at either type of event.

But scientific evidence suggests that gathering indoors, without masks, as Trump's campaign plans to do this weekend, is a much more dangerous place for the coronavirus to spread than outside at a protest.
