Yes, it?s a mostly ?un-heard-of? British film.

Just keep in mind that it starts out a little slow, but it gradually begins to build up steam within a few minutes. It?s important to see it from the beginning, because that gives the background information about the girl and why she is so na?ve.

She?s Irish, and she grows up hearing old-timers telling bad stories about the English, so she grows up in the late 1930s and into the ?40s hating the English. Then she gets herself into so much trouble, and it becomes a very realistic story that anyone can identify with, especially any of us who almost got themselves into trouble when we were young and na?ve, so it is an interesting universal story for everyone. :)
