Back when software was compiled/built using Make, there were other programs called makemake, which would "make" a Makefile, automating what had previously been the manual process of creating a Makefile. So I always see "make-make" rather than "ma-ke-ma-ke"

hamradio
On "Live Rescue 11-20-20" there was a call to the fire department claiming a man was drowning in a creek in California. FD searched and found no one in distress. Later confirmed the caller said his psychic told him there is a person drowning. Call 1-888-BULL-**** to waste taxpayers money and needed resources.
Sepiatone
Now I'm wondering if the guy's psychic offered to get in touch with the drowned man for him. Sepiatone

mr6666
These are priceless! 1. When one door closes and another door opens, you are probably in prison. 2. To me, "drink responsibly" means don't spill it. 3. Age 60 might be the new 40, but 8:00 pm is the new midnight. 4. It's the start of a brand new day, and I'm off like a herd of turtles. 5. The older I get, the earlier it gets late. 6. When I say, "The other day," I could be referring to any time between yesterday and 15 years ago. 7. I remember being able to get up without making sound effects. 8. I had my patience tested. I'm negative. 9. Remember, if you lose a sock in the dryer, it comes back as a Tupperware lid that doesn't fit any of your containers. 10. If you're sitting in public and a stranger takes the seat next to you, just stare straight ahead and say, "Did you bring the money?" 11. When you ask me what I am doing today, and I say "nothing," it does not mean I am free. It means I am doing nothing. 12. I finally got eight hours of sleep. It took me three days, but whatever. 13. I run like the winded. 14. I hate when a couple argues in public, and I missed the beginning and don't know whose side I'm on. 15. When someone asks what I did over the weekend, I squint and ask, "Why, what did you hear?" 16. When you do squats, are your knees supposed to sound like a goat chewing on an aluminum can stuffed with celery? 17. I don't mean to interrupt people. I just randomly remember things and get really excited. 18. When I ask for directions, please don't use words like "East." 19. Don't bother walking a mile in my shoes. That would be boring. Spend 30 seconds in my head. That'll freak you right out. 20. Sometimes, someone unexpected comes into your life out of nowhere, makes your heart race, and changes you forever. We call those people cops. 21. My luck is like a bald guy who just won a comb. Which is your favorite one?
SansFin
Never make a senior citizen angry. As you get older, "life in prison" is less of a deterrent.

Been a comics freak since I first picked up a newspaper. In answer.... Not famiiar with PIBGORN, and sadly, my paper(for some dumb reason) quit carrying NON SEQUITUR, and I never got into PHOEBE. There are two major newspapers in Detroit( the FREE PRESS and THE NEWS) and it was when, looking for something to read, I picked up a discarded Detroit News at work and found the comics section and discovered THE FAR SIDE back in the later '70's. Now I'm in possession of all the compilation mags. But another my paper carries and is often good is... https://www.gocomics.com/speedbump/2020/11/18 Sepiatone

It has evolved massively over the years. The fairy's frenemy is a succubus. Many of the installments are true art. I hope someday to be able to afford some of the prints. https://www.gocomics.com/pibgorn/2011/02/07 9 Chickweed Lane is by him also. It is the story of a girl, her mother and her mother. The artwork is less detailed but the sarcastic wit is the sharpest in the media. This strip has evolved quite far also. https://www.gocomics.com/9chickweedlane/2001/06/14 The early C'est La Vie strips have a refreshing clarity. https://www.gocomics.com/cestlavie/2004/01/24 We have strips carried on gocomics bookmarked in a folder so that we need only right-click 'open all' to receive our RDA of funny. The list in May of this year was: 9 to 5, 9 Chickweed Lane, Adam@Home, Andertoons, Andy Capp, Arlo and Janis, B.C., Baldo, Bottomliners, Bound and Gagged, Break of Day, Brevity, Brewster Rockit, Broom Hilda, C'est la Vie, Calvin and Hobbes, Catana, Close to Home, Cornered, Crumb, Cul de Sac, Dark Side of the Horse, Diamond Lil, Dog Eat Doug, Dogs of C-Kennel, Domestic Abuse, Drabble, Emmy Lou, F Minus, FoxTrot, Frank & Ernest, Frazz, Fred Basset, Grand Avenue, Gray Matters, Herman, Last Kiss, Lio, Maria's Day, Non Sequitur, On A Claire Day, Overboard, Peanuts, Pearls Before Swine, Phoebe and Her Unicorn, Pibgorn, Pickles, Pluggers, Pot-Shots, PreTeena, Raising Duncan, Real Life Adventures, Reality Check, Rose is Rose, Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal, Shirley and Son, Smith, Snow Sez, Stone Soup, That is Priceless, Thatababy, The Grizzwells, The Born Loser, The Flying McCoys, The Argyle Sweater, Thin Lines, Wizard of Id, Working Daze, Ziggy
Sepiatone
Don't get me started on comics. Like I stated, been a long time freak of 'em. Some of the earliest being BEETLE BAILEY( still going strong), HENRY( bald kid who never spoke) MAGGIE AND JIGGS, GASOLINE ALLEY( in which the characters aged with the strip and the times), DICK TRACY, RICK O'SHAY( western genre strip, played for laughs) FREDDIE( mischievous kid) , PEANUTS(of course) HI AND LOIS and then later--- BROOM HILDA, FUNKY WINKERBEAN, FOR BETTER OR FOR WORSE, SHOE, DOONESBURY, ONE BIG HAPPY and one in which one of the main characters is named Earl, and who's drawn to look a spitting image of my brother in law, also named Earl! https://www.gocomics.com/pickles/2020/11/16 Then yeah, I did get a bit into the "dramatic" strips, like STEVE CANYON, MARY WORTH, BRENDA STARR( hotcha!), APARTMENT 3-G, REX MORGAN MD. , MANDRAKE THE MAGICIAN and THE PHANTOM. There's more, but I think you get the drift. Sepiatone
