We NEED Watch TCM for cord cutters! Hulu Live TV

Recommended Posts

I’m looking to join the ranks of cord cutters and dump cable. TCM is prob Ac boy 50% of what we watch. Add in Watch TVM on our cell phones and that adds another 20%.

But once we do cancel cable we are looking to Hulu Live TV as our streaming service. BUT while Hulu Live TV has TCM as a channel, it is NOT on the list of providers for Watch TCM! Hulu Live TV will work for many other services and it MUST work for Watch TCM! VERY FRUSTRATED!

My guess is that the cable/satellite replacement streamers (Hulu Live, Youtube TV, etc.) don't pay TCM what they want in order to offer the streaming and dual network feed capabilities of Watch TCM.  In other words, it's not a technical issue, it's a money issue.

I can sympathize, though.  About to do the same here, though haven't decided between Hulu and Youtube.  Our television service changed from Verizon FiOS to Frontier FiOS a couple years ago, and it's gone downhill in quality since then.

FYI, I just switched to You Tube TV, which also has TCM.  While you can't use Watch TCM as a YouTube TV subscriber, there are on-demand titles of TCM programs available from YouTube TV that you can stream anytime.  It's essentially the same on-demand content you see available on Watch TCM.  The only thing that's really missing is the capability to choose between a east coast/west coast live feed.

I have Hulu.  Just got it recently.  I’ve not been able to afford TCM since the CROOKS at cable moved the channel up in their packages to more expensive.  I’ve missed it a lot!
but I got here and the movies are NOT IN WIDESCREEN!!  I’m SO upset!  Does anyone know why this is happening? You can’t call companies and talk to anyone on a phone anymore!  Quite ironic now that we ALL have phones in our hands almost 24/7.
anyway, the extra cost on Hulu is $60 a month!  I’m not paying this anymore for movies not on widescreen!
I miss Robert Osborne so much too.  TCM is up to about 10 hosts and all put together they STILL can’t make me want to watch them.
I’d like to nominate Raymond Aroyo (sp? From Fox News.  He’s awesome!  He’d be great on TCM!  He has a wonderful sparkle in his eye, he’s very classy, and is great off the cuff.  I sure hope someone will invite him to host the show.  I really think, if TCM could get the host right, they’d do us all a very big service.
please write back if you know why I can’t get TCM in widescreen.  I’d appreciate the help so much.  I hope letting you know about Hulu is a help too.  Here’s to cord cutting!! God bless.

I'm very happy with Youtube TV.    Agree that the archived movies are essentially "Watch TCM" - actually better, the content is all in one place and included in the search function.

But it is a little funny now to talk about "cord cutting."   YouTube TV content is nearly identical to a cable TV subscription .  At first it was a terrific savings.  But as they improve their content and interface they keep raising prices.   Now it is a small savings over cable TV, so we're basically back to where we started.   But the cloud storage is great, especially for movie lovers who want an extensive collection saved.    Many cable providers are still using those lousy DVR systems.
