BUT, the biggest problem is that Trump and the GOPers are pushing for beaches, bars, restaurants and everything else to open up - WIDE OPEN. And of course the business community is pushing just as hard for full re-openings. When you say "our slight increase," are you speaking as a South Carolinian? The greatest increase in S.C. is actually in Greenville-other end of the state. The West Virginia cases. Governor Justice specifically named Myrtle Beach.

Although I grew in that area of S.C. have rarely been back since I left. Myrtle Beach has never appealed to me - far too touristy. Although all those Yankee and Canadian dollars do help the state-gas, restaurant and lodging taxes in addition to sales taxes. Not to mention property taxes on commercial properties they utilize. Ironically a lot of people from the Upstate area of S.C. do go to MYB and other coastal areas, so I am sure that is contributing to rise in Greenville SC area. Not to mention the sorry state of the interstate between Spartanburg and the Coast.

mr6666
@NBCNews · 23m Starr County, Texas, had COVID-19 under control with quarantine restrictions, closing businesses before the state ordered closures, ramping up testing, and implementing a curfew with fines and jail penalties. Then, Gov. Abbott overrode the local decisions. A Texas border county had the coronavirus under control. Then the governor stepped in. "They took the teeth away from us to be able to enforce anything," the city manager of the county's largest city says. the reopenings created a “false sense that it was OK to get together to go out, to gather between families,” and that led to a significant increase in cases, Vasquez said.
