The Dawson City/Frozen Time Documentary on TCM.

Recommended Posts

The Dawson City/ FrozenTime documentary.

In the autumn of 2018, TCM showed the incredible documentary, Dawson City/Frozen Time.

That documentary was one of the most  fascinating documentaries I  have ever seen, it was

outstanding.  It is superb, unique, intriguing.

It  was about the Klondike Gold Rush in the Yukon Territory in the far northwest of Canada in the late 1890s and early 1900s.

It also featured the incredible film find of old silent films and newsreels buried in the permafrost in Dawson City that was

discovered while digging behind an old building  in that town. The films and photos were preserved to a certain degree by the

permafrost.  Many of those films and newsreels were believed to have been lost. That is why it was such  a  unique find.

Some great films from old Hollywood of  the  silent film era, as well as newsreels and photos of that incredible era of the

late 1890s to the 1920s or so.

Everyone that I know that has seen that documentary believes what I do about it. It is a great documentary.

The Dawson City film find also included some films and photos of the Klondike Gold Rush itself in the late 1890s and early 2000s.

Yet Turner Classic Movies has  not shown it since. There are many people that I am sure  would like to  see it on TCM.

It got great reviews from the critics, and impressed many of those in the public who saw it.

Could TCM please show it again?

I am sure TCM can find some time of the day or night to show it.

I would appreciate it if TCM would show it and let us know when it will be showing again.

Thanks, it would be much appreciated.

FYI:   posting this in multiple places doesn't increase the odds the TCM programmers will show the film.

Anyhow,  I hope you get what you're looking for.

JamesJazzGuitar,

Actually it sometimes does. Different people read different threads for various reasons.

I already got a good reply from TCM.  So it does work sometimes.

And regardless, I only posted 3 or 4 requests not  10 requests.

Like I said,  I'm glad you got what you were looking for.

Getting the TCM programmers to respond to such request can be a challenge,  especially for a silent film.
