Just wanted to give an early heads-up to the films noir and crime movies that TCM will be showing next Aug. 27 as part of Ida Lupino's day in Summer Under the Stars!!

 

Among other great titles:

*Out Of The Fog* (1941) 11:30am ET

A racketeer terrorizes a small fishing community until he falls in love with a fisherman's daughter.

Cast: John Garfield, Ida Lupino, Thomas Mitchell, Eddie Albert Dir: Anatole Litvak BW-85 mins, TV-PG

 

*While The City Sleeps* (1956) 6pm ET

Reporters compete to catch a serial killer.

*They Drive by Night* (1940) 8pm ET

Truck driving brothers are framed for murder by a lady psycho.

"While the City Sleeps" is an under-rated movie. A wonderful cast and an intriguing plot. All the characters are well developed. The near-rape scene with John Barrymore, Jr. and Rhonda Fleming is an edge-of-your-seat thriller.
