If Donald Trump steals the election by coercing electoral college voters to reverse the decisions in their states in favor of him would the big blue States be able to withhold money that they would normally send to the federal government?

No.  The states do not send money to the federal government; individuals and corporations do.

It's not that Lindsay Graham is getting less money than in the past, but rather that more money is coming into Jamie Harrison's campaign than in the past for a Dem.  Both have huge campaign expenditures for a S.C. US Senate race.

Interesting that Fox News is so complicit in promoting Graham's requests for money.

What's so laughable about the "Biden might lose because of the mail in voting debate", Trump will hurt just as well, many have to mail in his votes as well.

Biden is ahead and his supporters are freaking out,  what a riot.

BOTH sides will contest the outcome, Hold on to your seats, going to be a rough ride.

If the Republicans are successful in rejecting hundreds of thousands of mail-in votes from Democrats, Trump wins.  While some Trump voters will mail them in, most will not.  A reliable survey posted on this forum indicated that about 70% of Biden voters plan to vote by mail, whereas only about 30% of Trump supporters plan to.

So, if GOPers are successful in eliminating most mail-in votes, they can successfully turn the election to Trump.  This is particularly true in the battleground states.

Another aspect is that if Trump and GOPers can convince enough Dem leaning voters that a mail-in vote may not get counted, they won't vote at all.

Biden is ahead in number of people who plan to vote for him, but many of those are planning to vote mail-in.  Add repression/rejection of mail-in votes to other GOP forms of voter suppression.  Now Trump and GOPers are calling for their supporters to "monitor" polling locations, which is another term for intimidating voters who might vote for Biden.

If it was a fair and honest election,  the Democrats would have no reason "freak out," but it is not.

Both sides will contest the outcome in the courts.  Guess what, the majority of Federal judges in US are Republicans, over 300 appointed by Trump.  Five of the Supreme Court justices are Republicans and Trump plans to add a sixth by election time.

A federal judge in S.C. ruled that the witness requirement for mail-in ballots would be waived due to Pandemic.  Judge had ruled the same for the primaries, without appeal from Republicans or government.  So, there was no witness requirement for primary voting.

Two of the three judges on the appeals court reversed the above judge and said witness signature is required.  The legislature and governor had earlier confirmed a requirement for witness signature.

Just one example of how Trump and GOP plan to steal the election.

"Lying Lindsey Graham is a spineless, shameless, complicit, corrupt coward. ""Lindsey Graham is not going to want you to retweet this #LyingLindsey"

In S.C. we call him Little Liar Lindsey.  However, the GOPers and Independents know all about him and don't care in 2020.  They overwhelmingly voted for him in the primaries against multiple opponents.  He has never lost an election in S.C.

If Biden wins, Graham will shift slightly toward more moderate as he has after every election.  However, he will not have John McCain to "advise" him on doing the correct thing.  Then in four years, he will shift to the far right again as he does every term.

President Trump and Sen. Cruz say aloud they want a ninth justice now in order to "settle election disputes" - in their favor, they obviously mean. But a court can only "settle" disputes if the court is accepted as legitimate. To be respected, courts must be worthy of respect.

Who believes that Bush-Gore will repeat if a Kavanaugh-Barrett court approves Trump voter suppression as legal? The court will settle *nothing.* Politics will move to the streets - with Trump and Barr twitching to use violence against protesters. It will be a catastrophe. 2/x

If the voting models are right, at least 145 million ballots will be cast in 2020. If the polls are right, Biden will win at least 10 million more of those votes than Trump. If the court steps in front of that locomotive, I don't think it's the locomotive that gets wrecked. END

I've noticed that the Dem running in the 11th CD, Moe Davis, has a lot of signs out and they read like

this: Colonel Moe Davis, the Colonel being just above his name. In this area that certainly can't hurt.

1.  The Supreme Court will "settle" the election disputes; respectability has nothing to do with it - it's the law.

2.  Again, the SC will "settle" the dispute just as they did under Bush-Gore.  What does Frum mean "politics will move to the streets?"  More protesting, demonstrating and violence will solve little other than to give Trump and Barr the reasons to use violence and the justice system against them.  It will not change a d a m n thing.

3.  The polls at this time in 2016 showed Clinton with an unstoppable advantage over Trump.  As we all know the popular vote is not as important as the Electoral College vote.  Doesn't Frum (whoever he is) know that?   What does he think will happen if the SC decides that Trump won in the Electoral College, as they did in Bush v. Gore?

Incidentally I hope we have a repeat of the Johnson - Goldwater election where the GOP candidate only won 6 states.

The above is a perfect example of the kind of thing that comes out of a Russian Troll Farm.   A post disguised as coming from a left leaning progressive slamming the democrats for being too far to the right.  But not one word of criticism for the actual far right, the Republicans.  These efforts are designed to take support away from the democrats so that the right wing will prevail.  The result being the opposite of what they seem to be championing.  Too easy to see through once your eyes have been opened.

You could just disprove the content of the message in the video " the disinformation "  and that would show I'm not to be trusted, but coming from someone who will lie about something small it's no wonder you have to attack me with your  " I see Russians " thinking.

Here this is just for you, to feed your appetite for everything Russian.

I said it was "the type of thing" that comes out of Russian Troll Farms.  Through carousel posting these views are then spread by American 'useful idiots.'

The lie I was referring to had to do with the video "the other day" you claimed to have viewed, when in fact you did not.

I'll repeat what I have said to you earlier.  I do not watch any of the videos that you post.   In fact, my guess is that no one does.

I'm still curious as to who you really are, TalkTalk123. I just took a quick tour of your threads: not a film-related post among them, as far as I can tell. Which leads me to believe that you are either someone who posts film comments here under another name, but doesn't want us to be aware of your identity; or else you do post other political comments, but want to try to give more weight to your opinions by creating another poster with the same opinions.

I can't imagine that someone would come to the TCM board solely to make political posts. So come on, TalkTalk123, come clean: who are you, under your disguise?

My friend Victor Spinetti was in that film. (His mother, Lily Spinetti, gave me some interesting diet advice at a dinner party, many years ago.)
