I wonder why she chose his high school year book picture, out of all the millions available.

Why would it matter? He's ugly in all of them!

I haven't read the other trump books, but this one, I'm going to be downloading.  I have a feeling it will invoke an even bigger baby hissy fit because it's all about him, and the lies he's built his concareer on.  I like the idea of helping really p@#s him off.😎

I bought it too. Normally I'd read a library copy, but I want to own this one!

Why did she choose his high school yearbook picture?

I just started reading a mystery novel published in 1994.  Amazingly, Trump is mentioned in the first paragraph as owner of a casino in Atlantic City.   Seems interesting how many times his name came up in books, movies, TV shows, etc. before he became a TV personality, much less a politician.

I assume the use of the High School yearbook picture (which I also assume wasn't decided by her),  was to make the point that this creep was a creep from the get-go.    I.e right out of high school!

Anyhow,  just part of the marketing;   One thing I also noticed is that some media (e.g. MSNBC) show that picture of her that has to be about 20 years ago.   I guess they would say the picture reflects the majority of the time period of the interactions between uncle and niece.       E.g. this side by side is misleading.

MSNBC has nothing to do with the photo of Mary Trump. It is supplied by the publisher of the book, Simon & Schuster.

I don't think it's necessarily an old photo of her, it's simply a complimentary photo of her done in a professional manner that makes her look better than she may appear in a live interview. It may even be airbrushed.

In any case, I don't think her photo is worth all this discussion anyway.

A little off topic, but always interesting as to what pictures various organizations pick.  Spectrum has an information feature that shows pictures of the main characters in a show.  Some of the pictures are close to same time period as show, but most are either way before or way after.

If you can get Trump to sign it, you would really have something.

I agree.    Related to marketing,   I can see using photos from the 'same time period' since that is more likely to connect with potential consumers.   For news programs and especially for politically related individuals,  I can see a media outlet that was against said individual using the most unflattering photo they could find.    I'm sure there has been studies done on this;  e.g. does an overweight,  blotted look,  convey less credibility?     (or a photo where the individual is too polished,   making them look 'phony' and thus this conveys less credibility?).

For the cover, Trump was in uniform. It's interesting how the photo was cropped to a point where we don't see his uniform.  Here's another military man: Hitler.

Trump was at a private military high school because of problems he was having at home.

I graduated from a military college and it is nothing like being in the real military.  Especially if it is a private school for the sons of the wealthy.
