Mimichyrel
Saw it once on TCM. It showed early on a Saturday or Sunday morning, so it's probably not an oft-repeated movie. Black and white - can't remember who starred in it - thought it was Gregory Peck, (possibly Buddy Epsen?) but not sure about that. I believe the setting was rural GA in the 30's maybe? Lots of dust, poverty, illiteracy, etc. (Not Tobacco Row). The main character left home to work for a really ignorant, backwards family. He ended up taking care of the illegitimate baby of one the daughers, raising the child as his own for several years until the trashy family of the mother came and took the little boy away. ' Hope someone can help. You know how it is - you get a move in your heart and you just have to find it again. Thanks!

TCM realizes that it has many folks watching all around the clock (because of different time zones or people's schedules or whatever) so when they repeat a film they usually try and schedule it at different times of the day. If a film isn't shown a lot, it's usually because TCM's contract with the studio or distributor limits how many times they can show it.
