Since that time, legal complications involving rights problems arose, and it was withdrawn from public exhibition. Presently, it's in the TCM library, but has yet to be shown, or released on Dvd because of this situation. According to MovieCollectorOH's database, TCM has aired this only once, in January of 1995. txfilmfan
I found this, from 1969: https://www.nyu.edu/projects/wke/notes/huff/imagefiles/huff_690128.pdf So the property has been in and out of limbo for over 50 years now. Sherwood passed away in 1955.

skimpole
Is there a reason why Tabu: A Story of the South Seas has only appeared once on TCM, shortly after it was founded I believe?
