WHO KILLED GEORGE FLOYD?

Why Chauvin’s conviction matters

In America, police are rarely held accountable.

"........Over the past five years, police have killed an average of three people per day, according to Mapping Police Violence. The specter of death at the hands of the police is a particularly vivid one for Black men; one 2019 study found that Black men have about a 1 in 1,000 chance of being killed by police. So rapid are these shootings that the deaths, anger, and calls for justice begin to feel cyclic. Legal proceedings against one former officer often cannot conclude before the next case begins.

Chauvin’s conviction represents an interruption of that cycle — it is an anomaly. But it doesn’t mean the cycle is over. Or that all want it to end:.........

Maybe all the liberals can shut up now and go back to their day jobs now that the trial is over and Chauvin was found guilty. Oh wait, they'll be foaming at the mouth waiting for the next police killing of a black man to protest and riot over.

We wont have to wait, they are still happening........

It won't bring George Floyd back, but it is justice. As for Maxine Waters' comments, I love K. McCarthy's comments:

"Chairwoman Waters’ actions are beneath the dignity of this institution. They raised the potential for violence, directed lawlessness, and may have interfered with a co-equal branch of government."

Uh, doesn't this sound like the charges against Donald Trump in his second impeachment regarding the January 6 insurrection? Oh the irony.

You mean the Kevin McCarthy who screamed at DUMP on the phone during the insurrection????

So tell me, Jake, if Chauvin had knocked out Floyd on the sidewalk and then blown his brains out with a gun, all captured on camera, would you still think America was on a "slippery slope" with a murder conviction of the officer? Or in your world is it simply impossible for a white cop to murder a black man?

Thank God someone like you wasn't on that jury. There would probably be riots in the streets now which, I know, would appeal to all those racial hate mongerers out there.

Clint Eastwood, We Need You

Newt Gingrich, Newsweek April 21, 2021

Our streets are now so unsafe that it might be helpful to rewatch Clint Eastwood's Dirty Harry films. They can remind us of an earlier period in the 1960s and 1970s when crime was widespread, liberal judges were putting criminals back on the streets and the entire justice system was anti-cop and pro-criminal.

Donald Trump made turning a blind eye to racism acceptable to his supporters.  Thankfully more people in America could not bring themselves to vote for him and saw it as their responsibility to oust the monster.

"Our" police force?   What on Earth are you going on about now?   Nobody really wants to "diminish" anything about police except their insidious belief that any non-white individual even looking in their direction poses a threat to their lives that must be met with brutality and gunfire.  Regardless how young that person is.

Sorry Sepia,  but you are just as over the top as the other fool here.     To say "nobody really wants to diminish anything about police" is just BS.    Nobody means ZERO people and you know that just isn't true.      There are activist that call for the total disbanding of ALL police.   ALL.   Now this is a very small minority of progressives (like < 5%),  but there are some out there.

On all issues there are very small minorities of people that have an extreme point-of-view \ position.    Sadly today these very small minorities get way too much media attention.

But what if it's to save another young life?

Perhaps he meant no one around here.

In any event, this is distracting from the fact that this is a completely RACIST thread!

And a few of them are crawling out from underneath rocks to support Chauvin to prove your point.
