Hi,

Being new to this forum I must say I have loved film noir since early childhood.  This post isn't  exactly "film noir" although it's from an early Errol Flynn western (1939) Dodge City.

And given Eddie Muller is our "Noir Style" expert on everything from the rake and contour of wearing a "fedora" to the proper drink to have whether your winning or losing in

a life or death circumstance, this post comes under drinking style.

Movie: Dodge City (1939) Errol Flynn, Olivia De Havilland, Ann Sheridan, Bruce Cabot

Scene: 1872 Dodge City saloon, late night, well dressed women and men around table happily drinking.

Action: In walks Wade Hatton (Errol Flynn) to the table where someone announces last call... "who wants a night cap?"

Wade and Table agrees... Then Wade exclaims "...I am going to have a 'Nose Bag!" , Everyone seems to agree with Wade...

Translation: Let's get hammered!

Nose Bag is synonymous with Feed Bag.

Ann Sheridan sings:  My man and I lived all alone, In a little log hut we called our own, He loved gin and I love rum, I'll tell you had we lots of fun,

Ha, ha, ha, you and me, Little brown jug, don't I love thee...

Besides, Ann Sheridan's presence in this film just about certifies it as Film Noir.
