Republicans plan to steal the election

Recommended Posts

Before everybody becomes panicky, the Republicans can NOT steal the election.  Biden won and there is a Constitutional safeguard no one thinks of (no need to create an Amendment) it's the January 20th Inauguration which transfers the presidency to Biden making him the official,  legal president of the United States REGARDLESS if Trump concedes or not.

If Trump doesn't concede it will be unprecedented but a moot point.  Trump will have no authority to stay in the Oval Office and can be escorted out by force if necessary.  Uh this may be simplistic but someone being in a place of residence or property without permission or authority is called trespassing.

Before anybody cites other nations with their leaders illegally doing such, this is NOT other countries!

It is not about Trump conceding, it is about Republicans trying to steal the election.  The Constitution provides that the states determine how electors  for Electoral College are selected.  Originally the state legislatures did it, but then gradually turned it over to popular vote.

But now, the Republicans are trying to get Republican legislatures in PA, MI and wherever else Biden won to "determine" that the popular vote in their states is not valid.  Then those GOP legislatures would select electors which naturally would be pro-Trump.  They would vote for him in the Electoral College.

Sorry Cid, but while Bogie does often post his frustrations about our country's leadership and many of our fellow citizenry, I've STILL always gotten the impression that those frustrations come from a place where he has America's best interests at heart.

So what, Biden will still have the electoral majority even if they succeeded. Need to prove wide spread voter fraud within those  states a judge will accept.

Voter fraud has always happened but on very small scales and most are dealt with,

What we have here is a failure to communicate.  I don't believe they will succeed, but their plan in not a judicial one - at least to their thinking.  It is a strictly political one.  They do NOT have to prove voter fraud or anything else.  They just vote that the popular vote is invalid for whatever BS reason they come up with.  They believe the legislatures can legally discard the popular vote at will and then they select the electors. If they succeed in enough states, Trump has the Electoral College majority.

So what!

trump has gone beyond the pale--

trying to bribe Republican legislators to overthrow the will of the people at the polls.

This is a terrible time for our democracy when the president is trying openly and brazingly to steal an election.

Ham,  I hope you're right that everything's going to turn out the way the people have voted.

But trump and Republican elected officials in Congress and in states across the country have convinced 70% of the Republican party electorate that the presidential election is fraudulent.

trump even fired the Homeland Security  director  who told the public that the election was not fraudulent .

Of course, there's nothing wrong with our presidential election--

but the sowing of Discord and doubt in itself is dangerous to the standards and beliefs that we have as a Democratic Republic.

And leave it to the racist trump to publicly say that most of the alleged fraudulence took place in predominantly black precincts who vote Democratic in Detroit, Philadelphia and Atlanta.

Of all the norms and precedents that trump has destroyed for the American presidency,

this Direct attempt to manipulate a presidential election has to be the worst.

I've always gotten the impression he wants America to be a socialist country or one that mirrors Canada.  Anything other than that and he has criticized USA.

Just to be ***ing clear here.  My beef is with racists and those who enable a racist to be President.  PrincesofTap and Swithin have said just about the same thing.

If ElCid thinks that this is then an attack on America you have to ask yourself where he is coming from.

Wrong.  I explained that this was not the case to JamesJazz just the other day.

I have stood up for their positions for the sake of discussion and that ***es you off because in your world everyone has to think and do exactly as you want them to.

Goes way beyond opposing Trump and racists.

I have opposed Trump since day one for him and racism longer than you have been alive probably.

Republican governments have been bad for Canada.  That is my opinion.  But up until now I didn't have a personal problem with people who voted Republican because I understand why people lean conservative.

I think Trump is a danger to the planet as well.

Yes, to some degree Bogie has always been more left than you and I, but allow me to remind you here that he's also expressed much more satisfaction about Joe Biden's victory in this recent election than many Americans holding far or farther left views.

(...and his satisfaction seems to stem not only from the thought that that FAT***ED, EGOMANIAC, SOB OF A MAN-CHILD will soon be gone from the Washington D.C. scene)

Thank you.  Though I liked Bernie's policies I thought it was a mistake for him to run this time (too old for one) and being pragmatic liked that Joe Biden who had a good shot to win was the nominee.  I hope that Joe can bring America back to normal with regards the rest of the world.

I did have champagne the day he was declared the victor.  But now that ****heel in the Oval Office and Golf Course is making things difficult to the end.

Trump campaign statement on the decision in Pennsylvania

— “Today’s decision turns out to help us in our strategy to get expeditiously to the U.S. Supreme Court."

=========================================================

The judge dismissed this action "with prejudice".

When a lawsuit is dismissed with prejudice, the court is saying that it has made a final determination on the merits of the case, and that the plaintiff is therefore forbidden from filing another lawsuit based on the same grounds.

A very blatant message to the bozos Trump appointed to the Supreme Court that he expects them to do right by him.

But only in the same court.  They still have the right to appeal to a higher court, which is what Trump plans to do.

And now I understand in Wisconsin they're complaining that the Trump "observers" are interfering too much in the recount and don't seem to know what they're talking about.

Sepiatone

Has it been explained to them that they are not supposed to jump over barriers to rip up any ballots that say Joe Biden?

USA Today: Fact check: What's true and what's false about the 2020 election

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/factcheck/2020/11/17/fact-check-2020-election-whats-true-and-whats-false/6266732002/

There is some misunderstanding about machines  reading the ballots, if one does NOT follow the instructions it can happen, Few might CHECK the areas instead of filling them in  or use other color of ink. Red is a no-no.

Ballot design may vary, 2 samples

New ballot scanners (introduced 2018), the one's in Pennsylvania  were incorrectly set up causing delays and conspiracies.

One can see how doing this is time consuming!

Seeing a lot of “some coup THIS was” takes that don’t acknowledge that, had a handful of relatively obscure local Republican election officials voted differently in the past couple weeks, we would be on a *very* different trajectory right now.
