Nor will it be kind to any of those that turned a blind eye and voted for him.

A new report issued yesterday by Public Citizen found that about one-third of U.S. Covid deaths were tied to a lack of insurance, and that hundreds of thousands of deaths and millions of infections would likely have been prevented if the U.S. had Medicare for All. This report follows a landmark study published earlier this year in The Lancet that found nearly half a million deaths would have been averted since 1980 if U.S. death rates had matched those of other wealthy nations with national health programs.

Many Red States have been turning down expanded Medi-Cal for their residents, not coincidentally, often the same states railing against mask mandates and vaccinations.   They must want their citizens to die, and by obliging their leaders, these MAGA minions are obliging them and being the large majority of the spikes in infections and deaths.

Deaths could had been prevented during and after early 2020 if people done a very simple thing as staying home and follow very simple common sense guidelines. Freedom comes with responsibility - it is not a free-for-all, do as you please whenever you please.

Regarding cost..Vaccinations are FREE!

I agree.  Sadly you had a President pushing the opposite message that the virus was harmless and everything needed to stay open with zero precautions and no testing.

As someone else said, Donald Trump had no ability to look further than a mirror.

Estimated U.S. COVID-19 Deaths Due To POTUS Inaction
In January 2020, the Trump administration was advised that immediate action was required to stop the spread of COVID-19. According to NIAID Director Dr. Anthony Fauci, “there was a lot of pushback” to this advice. President Trump declined to act until March 16th. Experts estimate that, had mitigation measures been implemented one week earlier, 60% of American COVID-19 deaths would have been avoided. (For further reading, click here).

Brazil's Bolsonaro is facing a Senate Inquiry into charges of crimes against humanity for downplaying the pandemic (comparing it to the common flu) and placing all emphasis on the economy versus public health.  They figure that cost 300,000 lives in Brazil.  Donald Trump has got that beat in America.
