Geostan Posted September 4, 2009 Share Posted September 4, 2009 Brenda Joyce (not the novelist) passed away last July at the age of 92. Some obits stated 97, but her birthday, which she confirmed to me a number of years ago, was indeed February 25, 1917. She had been in failing health for the past decade. Most fans recall her role as Tarzan's mate to Johnny Weissmuller, and then to Lex Barker (for one film). But the actress appeared in many films including The Rains Came (her debut). She gave up acting altogether in 1949. It would be a fine tribute for TCM to air some of her lesser known films, such as Public Deb. No. 1 and Shaggy.
