MissGoddess
Oooooooooh, merci beaucoup, Mlle Favel!! What an adorable little family. My favorite is the bottom one, because Vivvy's profile is just like kittykins!

Edythevanhopper
I couldn't pick a favorite out of that group. Jack, you've exceeded all expectations....my Max and Vivien.
JackFavell
I have to say that I love the bottom one too, it is such a great photo! But my second favorite is the one of Larry smiling, and Viv is wearing a woolen scarf. They are sitting under a window outside and there is a stone wall behind them. They have a cute little black and white kitty. I think it must be shortly after they got married - in fact, I wouldn't be surprised if "Max" was near to filming *Rebecca* at this point. I forgot to post this one yesterday -
casablancalover
h4. Larry and Viv: I was surprised to see the cats. I always had the image of Larry with large devoted, friendly dogs, maybe retrievers.. But I am a dog person, so the influence was there to see what I wanted to see. I must keep an open mind. Edythevanhopper
I caught a blurb from Rbt Osborne before The VIP's aired the other night. I did not hear all of it, but he said that film was based on a tryst between Viv and someone. ..that Laurence flew to the airport and put an end to it. Does anyone know the third party in that triangle?
JackFavell
The hard part seems to be finding pictures of stars without dogs. Constance Bennett (oh, yes it is! and with brown hair) 1925 Constance Talmadge Lillian Gish Buster and Eleanor Keaton's later generation Newfoundland dogs ended up being the ones used in the Beethoven movies Charlie Chaplin from A Dog's Life Adolphe Menjou aboard ship Rudy Vallee Ruth Chatterton Louise Brooks with some friends
JackFavell
I had trouble dividing photos into categories:stars with their real pets, stars with dogs as props, and dogs who were stars in their own right. I could probably do an entire thread just on Toto and Judy Garland. So I am just going to wing it here... right now I will post some of the more familiar dog stars, since there are some really great pictures I couldn't resist. Forgive me if I end up with a stray blond or redhead.... after looking through tons of pet photos yesterday and today, my mind is starting to slip. Toto (who's real name was Terry) and Judy Garland Lassie with Elizabeth Taylor Challenge to Lassie Lassie, Rudd Weatherwax, and Wiggles (sometimes known as Mike) Lassie and Peter Lawford Lassie and Marsha Hunt Lassie and Helen Mack Lassie with Roddy McDowell Our Gang with Pete Asta with Myrna Loy (this is such a great shot! My favorite) Asta from The Awful Truth Asta as George Cary Grant, Myrna Loy and unknown dog star, Wings in the Dark Gloria Swanson and Teddy Edited by: JackFavell on Nov 13, 2009 5:27 PM Edited by: JackFavell on Nov 13, 2009 5:32 PM

MissGoddess
Great job, Jackie! You're doing so well by this thread of yours. I know what hard work it is to scour the net for pictures. That picture of Lauren in the red dress with those HUGE dogs...what are they? Mastiffs? Great Danes? It's a little scary looking! She's gorgeous, though. Bronxgirl48
jackie, your celebs with cats is....just....INCREDIBLE!! I love Viv in profile looking so feline along with her Siamese! I wanted to include "the female Bela Lugosi", Narda Onyx, most famous for JESSE JAMES MEETS FRANKENSTEIN'S DAUGHTER, but the only photos I could find from that gem are her in a metal helmet as she's performing her wacky experiments, so we can't see her raven tresses. JackFavell
I'm guessing Bull Mastiffs, but then again, what do I know, the owner of a tiny little poodle! Thanks for the vote of confidence, Miss G - I really needed that! If I were more organized, I could post faster. If I had put them all under the same first word it would be a snap, but I was dumb and started out too haphazardly. Now I am scouring all around my files for the pics I want. I collected a lot of dogs yesterday, because I was planning the doggie reply then. Its' so funny! Tiny women have big huge dogs: Billie Holiday Hedy Lamarr Clara Bow (I know! I just couldn't help myself) and well....you'd be surprised how many big, strong men liked Dachsunds and tiny fuzzballs - it's weird: John Wayne Richard Barthelmess Clark Gable
MissGoddess
I know what you mean about the organizing...I am constantly working to find pictures in photobucket. I hate that they don't have a search function. Anyway, these last ones are great, too. I love the ones of Dukie and Clark. :x
JackFavell
Bronxie! Hey there!!! I think that Missy pic with the collie is just about my favorite of the lot. I just love it. Oh, I wish you could have posted Narda Onyx! She looks beautiful, even under that wacky rainbow helmet.... Horror brunettes are sadly under-represented here, so we need you to keep posting them. Wait... what was that movie I watched last year... A guy was an artist and he was driving around picking up voluptuous girls in his convertible so he could take them back to his studio....then they ended up dead. What the heck was that movie? I can't even remember what happened in the end??? See? We need you.

Naaah, he was picking up girls in his convertible...but he was a hack scientist trying to find a suitable body for his girlfriend, who was decapitated in a car accident. All he had was her head. She was played by Virginia Leith: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0500702/bio Thanxxx for representing the doggie/brunette kingdom. Maureen O'Sullivan looks particularly lovely in that last shot.
