MovieMadness
The Republicans can gain control of the senate again. All they need to do is get one Democrat to switch parties and they gain control of the Senate. The Democrats did this once a long time ago and "promised" the new "Democrat" Arlen Specter chairman of a committee he wanted. So out of 50 Democrats they should be able to find one willing to switch, just make him chairman of something important.
LuckyDan
Joe Manchin would be the obvious guess, but with maga pretty much in charge of the party at the moment, I wonder what chance a former democrat would have running for reelection as a republican.

Those were in the days when the GOPers were becoming the radical right-wing extremist party that we know today. They were appealing to the racist Democrats primarily from the South. As for Specter, see below. He was basically an opportunist who also believed the Republican Party that he had switched to had become too extreme and he switched back to the Dem. Party. On the other hand, the Dems could also get a GOPer to change to the Dem Party. Either way, I doubt it will happen. From Wikipedia: "Specter was a Democrat from 1951 to 1965,[1][2][3] then a Republican from 1965 until 2009, when he switched back to the Democratic Party. First elected in 1980, he represented Pennsylvania in the U.S. Senate for 30 years."
ElCid
It is just as likely, if not more so, that a Republican will change to the Democratic Party.
