Gina McCarthy will be Biden’s ‘climate czar.’ What the heck is a climate czar??

President-elect Joe Biden will name Gina McCarthy as his domestic “climate czar,” multiple outlets reported on Tuesday, elevating the former administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency to a Cabinet-level position in the White House.

In the new role, McCarthy — who is currently president and CEO of the Natural Resources Defense Council, or NRDC — will be responsible for coordinating climate action across multiple federal agencies and Congress. Ali Zaidi, New York State’s deputy secretary for energy and environment, will serve as her number two.

The idea of having a White House “climate czar” isn’t new, but the position has been empty for almost a decade. President Barack Obama appointed Carol Browner, also a former EPA administrator, to fill the role between 2009 and 2011. (Browner’s official title was “energy coordinator,” but the “czar” title stuck.) In 2011, however, the Republican-led House of Representatives defunded and essentially eliminated the position. It’s gone unfilled ever since.

Biden, however, has made it clear that he intends to use all the tools of the federal government to take on climate change — from the National Economic Council to the Department of Health and Human Services. In addition to ensuring that all those diverse departments and agencies work seamlessly together, McCarthy will have to reckon with a divided Congress, which will make passing comprehensive climate change legislation difficult. As the climate czar, she will be the domestic counterpart of former Senator and Secretary of State John Kerry, who will be responsible for tackling U.S. climate concerns abroad as the Biden administration’s “special envoy on climate change.”

Biden has been appointing more czars lately than any Russian monarchy ever did, so welcome to Democrat Socialism. These are people who go into high places without being properly vetted and tell us all how we must live our daily lives, this one being appointed to coordinate the global warming scam of all things.

The "Czar" term to refer to anyone in charge of a post committed to policy making or overseeing  an initiative began  back in the turn of the 20th century.  Both republican and democrat presidents appointed several people as "Czars" of various cabinet posts and programs.   So evidently McCarthy will be overseeing the activity of an initiative that addresses the issue of Global warming.  Others can be considered an "energy Czar", or a "drug Czar"  or the head of any other department that exists(and has existed for years) solely for the purpose of protecting people's lives and well being.  And the term "Czar" was borrowed mainly as a reference to the power of the office, NOT having anything to do with socialism, communism or such nonsense, as the term went out of fashion in Russia since the revolution turned the country from Russia to The Soviet Union.  And before that, Russian monarchies were anything but socialist.  Or communist.   Even that podunk one room schoolhouse you slept through would have taught you that.

I think Biden should get a Berserker Czar that tracks the movements of our own home-grown R U M P -inspired ragtag insurrectionist mishappers, even providing them with brand-new knee pads that they can have for free in order to pay homage to their Disgraced Ex President Reject down there in Merry-Go-Round-Leggo-Laggo-Loggoria in Flor-ee--Day. I hope Fox news covers it.

Ah, but the one point you're missing is that the word was used by both parties to describe persons appointed to certain positions in  the administrations of BOTH parties.  

MM is trying to make it sound as if Biden uses the word because he's  erroneously thought of as a socialist and wants to turn DC into some kind of Gulag.  

And it was YOUR boy Donny that wanted to be "Czar" in the original sense of the word.
