Ok so I'm new to the boards but I am a life long movie lover and I keep peering out my shades and through the snow and ice, my 31 days of fun

and adventure doesn't even seem to be out in the not to distance future. This is one of my favorite times of year along with Memorial Day weekend war movies and August the 31 summer under the stars.

And one last thing if you're taking requests if you could please show Harold and Maude I know I'd like it.

I've been watching TCM almost from its first day when we switched to DISH Satellite in 1994. I wanted to sign in here and find out what happened to MY FAVORITE time of the year: "31 Days of Oscar." Even with COVID's impact on the movie industry and the Oscars, I was hoping for the 31 Days of Oscar. I'm relieved it will still happen but I WILL have to delay my gratification.

Thank you.

  • 1 month later...

I know I'm new here, and this question is specifically non-friendly, so it may be discounted by long-held members due to that status.

Doesn't make the query invalid, though. . . .

I understand the limits of 31 Days of Oscar, especially the small choice of winners, meaning that the pool holds few options to fill a month-long calendar. Given the novelty of showing them in alphabetic order, there should be few excuses to NOT find them and to NOT run them on today's schedule (today is Sunday, March 27). Six (of 12!) films today will be re-run within weeks, one within days!

Show Boat (1936) is due within the month,

Kitty Foyle (1940) is due within the month,

Jezebel (1938) is due within the month,

Vertigo (1958) is due within the month,

Charade (1963) is due within the upcoming WEEK,

I Want to Live! (1958) is due within the month.

Can't we have a better selection process excluding close duplicity as a criterion (excluding NBNW, Hitchcock, and Cary Grant, of course!)?
