Movie Collector OH
Quote ..as we’ve transitioned from HD, to 4K, to 8K soon is becoming more and more challenging... BFD. As long as they start off with vector graphics then it will scale well.
Dargo
Then shouldn't that Latin phrase around Leo's head also be changed to something like "Ars Gratia Artis Digitalus"?
scsu1975
Say, isn't it about time Leo was replaced by Leona? I mean, let's get with the times.

EricJ
Not to mention that that 00's logo that zooms out from an ultra-closeup of Leo's eye is left over from when that was the cool "depth" opening from their 00's 3D movies. We can see why it was updated.
Dargo
Wait! What does a picture of Edward G. Robinson in drag have to do with all this anyway??? (...myeah, myeah...one o' you mugs answer me that, see?!)

TomJH
The original Leo posing with Greta Garbo. I have to suspect that this is a time Garbo really vanted to be alone. 2

In the words of Bachman Turner Overdrive "You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet"! Or, if you're into Christina Aguilera, "Keeps Gettin' Better"! txfilmfan
Since Leo was last filmed in the 1950s, that photo is a fake, as the room is too modern for that. There's not enough room for a film camera on the other side of that fake screen. MGM lions were always filmed standing, and they didn't film with the MGM banner in front of the lion. That's a photo of a lion getting a CAT scan... https://africacheck.org/fact-checks/fbchecks/mgm-lion-strapped-down-film-logo-no-photo-lion-getting-cat-scan 1

(...minus the tail there, of course...they also couldn't get me to roar...just wince and grumble a bit) Since the thread is about Leo, and not last colonoscopies, I'll spare folks the story of the time I had to sign the disclaimer form that any interior scraping of cells would be classified as a "minor surgical operation", for those with objections, and I responded (with an absolute straight face) "Whew, so, then, it wouldn't be like major operating-room surgery, where I'd have to come into the hospital for a week, and have half my colon taken out?...And then I'd be left with just a semi-colon?" (ahem) 😌 So, anyway, HOW ABOUT THEM LOGOS??
