DickLindsay
Hello All: Can you help identify these character actors from RKO; all the photographs have an RKO Photographer's name (Bachrach usually) stamp on the back. I tried to identify them with no luck. Thanks. #1 back of the photo has handwritten "Reid" (photograph is by Henry Fruelich) #2 no ID whatsoever, photographer's stamp SCOTTY WELBOURNE #3 He kinda looks like John Waters, but I don't think so. #4 This guy looks very familiar, but I cannot place him. #5 RKO stamp on back 1943, photographer ERNEST BACHRACH "TB" on lower right. Tom Brown? #6 RKO stamp on back 1946, photographer ERNEST BACHRACH "WR" on lower right. #7 another RKO stamp on back 1944, photographer ERNEST BACHRACH "N" on lower right-- i think this is for the film NEVADA (western). ideas? #8 another RKO stamp on back 1944, photographer ERNEST BACHRACH "SH" on lower right. ?? #9 ERNEST BACHRACH photographer, RKO, 1944 lower left corner has "BM" #10 JOHN MIEHLE photographer, RKO, 1945 lower left corner has "SM-ADV". I think this may be a film title, "SPANISH MAIN". actor is? #11 another similar to #3. who is this guy???!!?! 12. No identifiers at all on this one: Thanks in advance for any help with these! LuckyDan
#3 is familiar to me from Three Stooges shorts. Maybe a Sherlock Holmes villain. I think he is Philip Van Zandt. https://www.bing.com/images/search?q=philip+van+zandt&stid=cb9bcc39-455c-246c-97f4-b21bd9b098ae&cbn=EntityAnswer&first=1&tsc=ImageBasicHover

DickLindsay
Just a quick thank you, once again, for the help in identifying the actors in these photos! It is much appreciated. Attached is one of my most prized possessions: a candid shot of Katharine Hepburn with director HOWARD HAWKS from BRINGING UP BABY.
