Looking for a film title

This one is an old western where a really bad man, I think he is an Indian, captures a man who is after him, puts him in a shallow cave at the side of a mountain with a hanging cage outside.  There is either another person in the cage or a skeleton. The man ends up in a pit where he tries to clime out and is eventually rescued.  Sorry, I have no names or dates.  Thanks for your help in advance
