Yes I agree but he was obviously a very complex man- the sexuality aspect is one just one part of the story- the history of family suicide is another

I really enjoyed this series. I've read most of his better known novels and really liked them. He was a very complex individual "with all the usual vices"- to quote General Sternwood.
