txfilmfan
PBS's American Masters program made available to its member stations the 2019 documentary Oliver Sacks: His Own Life. It's an interesting story, one with which I was unfamiliar. If you don't know the name, you probably know the film based upon one of his early books: the Oscar-nominated Awakenings. Sacks was an intensely shy, eccentric British neurologist who spent most of his adult life in the U.S. Born into a strict Jewish family, Sacks left the UK for California, in part due to his family's hateful view of him. He eventually relocated to NYC in the mid-1960s where he resided for the remainder of his life. The documentary was filmed in 2015 shortly before he passed away. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt10887164/
