Bronxgirl48
Rudy apologizes for not meeting you in the Village this evening. He wanted to get his engine in the best possible condition and time unfortunately just flew.

CineMaven
Ohhhhhhhhhkay. (I had waited for him...and then went back inside to my drinks). Well would you tell Rudy that when he's finished with that engine... would he please come and tinker with mine?? 0h dear, my engine has been running ever so sluggishly and he'll need to bring all his tools for the job at hand. From what you've told us, Rudy has every tool an engine could handle to make it purr like a kitten. I understand he is a very masterful mechanic. Please tell him I'm waiting. Bronxgirl48
finance and Maven, re; my INFORMATION, PLEASE thread, I can't answer you there now because the Popular Forum box is blocking the Reply button, so I'll post these two Dick Foran songs, "I'll Remember April" and "Give Me My Saddle" from RIDE 'EM COWBOY, to give people some idea of why I love Dick. Hopefully someone can tell where I can hear "The Prairie Is My Home" once more from LAND BEYOND THE LAW. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8h82tpK6lB4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zkIRdN5h1ZQ Edited by: Bronxgirl48 on Jul 23, 2011 1:14 PM Edited by: Bronxgirl48 on Jul 23, 2011 1:20 PM

Bronxgirl48
Oh, thanks, Lynn, I forgot about FORT APACHE today. Mom was down in the dumps earlier this afternoon (she left her cane at the shopping center yesterday) and said she was going to relax with TCM and watch LORD OF THE FLIES, which she had never seen and knew nothing about. I told her it would not be a pick-me-up. Edited by: Bronxgirl48 on Jul 23, 2011 5:21 PM
Bronxgirl48
Nah, the only thing that thrills me about Dick is his voice. Rudy is my number one guy, and yet I'm strangely not possessive. I truly want to share him, in every possible way, lol, with all the girls on these boards, and let them experience the joys of knowing such a lovely soul, who also happens to be the most gorgeous, charming, and adorable hunk that ever existed on this earth. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TEy04SSh73k Edited by: Bronxgirl48 on Jul 23, 2011 5:43 PM
FredCDobbs
>Nah, the only thing that thrills me about Dick is his voice. His voice was fine, but it belonged in a night club in New York. It was no more "Western" than the voice of Nelson Eddy. When I watch his movies, I feel like he just got off a stage from Boston, on his way to a two-week vacation at a dude ranch. JackFavell
Aww, but Fred, he was a great big strapping 6'2" hunk of a man. Sooner or later he had to end up out west. If he was good enough for John Ford, can't we cut him some slack? He was awfully cute. I've always had a soft spot for him, though I'd take Leslie Howard in Petrified Forest (and he couldn't sing or rope a steer).
Bronxgirl48
mmmm....Georgie....oh, er, excuse me, lol. I enjoy actors who can go from mummy movies to John Ford, like Dick Foran or Tom Tyler. Bronxgirl48
Fred, I guess we'll have to agree to disagree about Dick. I think he's a natural in the westerns, and quite believable. He could belt out great Irish tunes, but I'll leave those to Dennis Morgan. I actually prefer Foran on the range!

Bronxgirl48
I don't know what it is, but I never find George O'Brien sexier than when he's in a John Ford movie. Edited by: Bronxgirl48 on Jul 23, 2011 7:30 PM

Bronxgirl48
Wow, Fred, this is wonderful to hear! So many guys were and probably still are. jealous of Rudy and what he stood for (not who he really was as a person) Check out his films -- he was a fine actor.
