Democrats on January 6 committee demand phone records for Donald Trump and ALL his family plus GOP lawmakers who attended 'Stop the Steal' rally

Democrats on January 6 committee demand phone records from Stop the Steal rally

Democrats on the House Select Committee investigating the Capitol riot are planning to request that telecommunications companies preserve the phone records of Trump family members and Trump-aligned lawmakers who attended the 'Stop the Steal' rally on Jan. 6. The records request could determine who the committee plans to call forth as a witness. It's not clear how the committee plans to ensure compliance from telecommunications companies with its request. The committee does have subpoena power but obtaining the records of members of Congress could set off complicate legal battles. The committee is requesting preserved phone records of Ivanka Trump, Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, Lara Trump and Kimberly Guilfoyle, Don Jr.'s girlfriend.

GOP Rep. Jim Jordan now admits he spoke to Trump 'more than once' on January 6 after Democrats on the Capitol riot committee demanded phone records and text messages from Republicans

Ohio Republican Jim Jordan last month admitted to speaking with Trump once during the January 6 Capitol riot, but he's now providing more details of the day as the Dem-led probe heats up.

There's gold in them thar lies. I read yesterday that Powell just recently purchased a former antique store

in the D.C. area to use as a new headquarters for whatever it is she does. Price--$1.2 million. Paid for in

cash.

Indeed.  It's the last one hundred million in that billion dollar law suit that is going to be the killer.

I don't know. The well-connected, even the crazies, often manage to skirt the law and find a safe

refuge. It certainly will be interesting to see how these lawsuits turn out. I imagine it will take

some time to wind their way through the legal system.

Wonder, if kids go out trick or treating this Halloween, if wearing a caveman costume with a fur hat with horns will be the most popular costume?

Sepiatone

Might be in my area.  We skipped Halloween last year and will probably skip it again this year.  Those who tabulate say we get about 1,000 kids in our neighborhood each year.  Don't doubt it.  Add in 1.5 parents per kid and ALL without masks and you have a real good chance of catching something.

"...... "When this anonymous report was first published, the Select Committee queried the Executive Branch agencies and congressional committees involved in the investigation. We've received answers and briefings from the relevant entities, and it's been made clear to us that reports of such a conclusion are baseless.".....

McCarthy and many other Republicans have used a report from Reuters that claims the FBI has found "scant evidence" that the January 6 riots were coordinated. CNN has not independently confirmed that report.

The committee making it clear that Trump has not been cleared of any wrongdoing related to January 6 gives a clear indication that the former President and his allies remain a focal point in their investigation.
"We will continue to pursue all elements of this investigation in a nonpartisan and thorough manner. We also remind Minority Leader McCarthy of his statements following January 6th............
A week after the insurrection, McCarthy said on the House floor that, "The President bears responsibility for Wednesday's attack on Congress by mob rioters. ... He should have immediately denounced the mob when he saw what was unfolding. ....."

This news report outlines the content of the letters sent to the called witnesses with the committee's (rather damning) reasons for doing so.
