I'm very excited and happy about getting a new laptop.

I always wanted a laptop. this one is a very lightweight and powerful one.

one review said it was the most powerful i7 laptop they ever tested.

it lacks an optical drive and speakers but I have an external DVD burner in one of my drawers.

handles all DVD formats.

tomorrow I will order a multimedia soundbar to give it sound.

just call me notebook nippy

:D

I had to give up on optical drives years ago, when I switched to MacBooks. However, I have a thing called an Apple USB SuperDrive, which serves as my optical drive.

I was going to call you "nippy," but I think I may call you Gladys instead. In addition to the meaning of the word "nippy" as cold, or inclined to bite, it means this:

"A nippy was a waitress who worked in the J. Lyons & Co tea shops and cafés in London. Beginning in the late 19th century, a J. Lyons waitress was called a "Gladys". From 1926, because the waitresses nipped (moved quickly) around the tea shops, the term "Nippy" came into use.  Nippies wore a distinctive maid-like uniform with a matching hat."

You must look very fetching in this outfit, Nippy/Gladys!
