lzcutter
Hey guys, Is anyone interested in continuing on with Film School? I would be glad to continue doing so if y'all are. I have some ideas for a look at the various Genres, how they started and how they have evolved. Was thinking of beginning with Westerns (followed by in no particular order, gangsters, musicals, film noir, etc), starting in October. Any interest out there? FredCDobbs
I?m interested! Why don?t we try to make up a list of Main Genres and maybe a list of sub- or Additional Genres? The list you started is a good start.
HollywoodGolightly
I agree, it's a very good idea. And westerns would be a great starting point, I'm assuming you might be thinking of The Great Train Robbery (1903).

scottman1932
Sounds interesting, I hope I can devote more time to this class than I was able to during the summer.
ChiO
Sounds great! Would you please provide our working definition of "genre" so that we're on the same page (or at least in the same book)? Or, if a definition of "genre" was intended as one of the first teachable moments, I apologize and hereby withdraw the question.
