U.S. health care system ranks last

Workers Comp is not as great as James says it is.  He "works" for them.  I worked in an agency that had extensive contact with Workers Comp. "beneficiaries."  Lots and lots of things were not covered and WC was quick to cut them off.

Not sure why works is in quotes. I'm sure JJG turns in an honest day's labor, but aren't the limits and exceptions set by state governments?

Not sure of his actual connection to WC, but know he often speaks as someone knowledgeable about it based on his occupation.

No I've not lived in a single payer country.

Going to the emergency room IS going to a medical provider for treatment. And it's open all night. 

Open question to all: If you could eliminate profit-making health carriers entirely and guarantee equity of health outcomes (the poor would be no worse off than the rich) but it would mean less efficiency, longer waits, fewer options, would you agree to it? Or would you prefer things as they are? 

As I've mentioned elsehere, I live in hat's probably the most right wing part of Canada, and the consensus is, while the single payer system could use some improvement, don't even think of getting rid of it.
