Dargo2
>Just guessing, Dargo, but since Frank is wearing the same hat and has his hair sort of in the same style, they may have been doing a routine in the movie. Ya think? Yeah Dothery, I pretty much thought so too. (...I just wanted to type out the words "Jane Wyman hairstyle" here, THAT'S all) LOL

wouldbestar
Is this version of *The Wolf of Wall Street* available for viewing on TCM? From what I've heard about the current film of that name it turns the air blue and is step above a porno flick. Guess which one I'd prefer to see and I usually like Leo's work? Randolph Scott's birthday? That explains this morning's sudden urge to bake a cake. I've read he was a religious man in later life so my taking it to a homeless mission at my church tonight will hopefully be appropriate. P. S. Loved that photo. If only he was looking at me like that.

Dothery
Hey, Mongo ... here's a coincidence: Mariana DuPont Scott was a horse breeder, and had a horse named Mongo. "Scott's horse Mongo was voted the 1963 American Champion Male Turf Horse." ... Wikipedia. When I was a teenager we used to make fun of Randolph Scott ... we thought he was the pits as an actor. (I hear he did too.) Later I realized he wasn't half bad, especially in his westerns.
jamesjazzguitar
Interesting that best friends Grant and Scott had some, well, not so lovely wifes (at least the early ones).
bansi4
Star, unfortunately that version of "The Wolf of Wall Street" is a lost film. Great idea about baking the cake for the church.

jamesjazzguitar
I also feel that early Randolph Scott wasn't a very good actor, especially in a urban setting, but later on in his career in westerns he gave some fine performances.

movielover11
are you sure that photo of Randolph Scott is his wife walking next to him? I thought it was his mother or a stranger walking next to him. Look how far apart they are...like they don't even know each other. I liked Randolph Scott and thought he was a good actor and very handsome too. Edited by: movielover11 on Jan 23, 2014 9:30 PM

bansi4
Movielover, It is his wife at that time. She was one of the upper crust Duponts, a nice woman who delved in horses. She actually had a champion named Mongo who belonged to Scott.
