There's an interesting story behind the Shirley Temple photo in her autobiography, Child Star.  Notice that she is smiling with her mouth closed? That's because just before the event, she lost a baby tooth. In the movies she wore a temporary cap to cover any gaps, but there was no time to get to the dentist, so the quick-thinking young Shirley dealt hid her embarrassment by keeping her mouth shut.

:) What a nice array of photos to come home to after the "out-of-towners" trip back I had yesterday. Traffic snarls in Virginia and bridge-building in Savannah caused all Southbound buses on the East Coast to be late causing missed connections; instead of 8:00 PM I got into town at 10:15 and not home til nearly 11.

The "Bollywood" awards are here this week-end but I'm too worn down to go mix with the partiers. There's plenty of press coverage for me to keep up with what's going on.  I just hope this gives the city the money and prestige it's looking for and the visitors from India have a good time.

During the filming of “Let’s Make Love” in 1960, Marilyn Monroe was married to Arthur Miller at the time, and spent a lot of time at the next-door bungalow of Yves Montand and his wife, Simone Signoret…and Monroe and Montand wound up having a highly publicized affair (which Signoret never blamed her for). What a woman.
