Starlets Mitzi Gaynor, Jean Peters on a break from "Take Care of My Little Girl"

Wow.  I would not have even known that was Mitzi Gaynor without this caption.  It doesn't look like her at all.  She must have been very young in this picture; or perhaps she lost some weight by the time she was in "There's No Business Like Show Business."  In that movie, she had a much narrower face.  I am in no way saying she's chubby here, because she's most definitely not.  I'm guessing this picture is from the late 40s?

I remember when she told in an interview that her husband had mentioned she was getting pretty big in the rear, and that she ought to lose some weight.  She said she hadn't noticed it until he said it, but accepted that it was true, and deliberately lost the weight and kept it off ever after.  Apparently she didn't resent it.

The one and only original platinum blonde

I don't I know much about fashions or hosiery and am intrigued by the hosiery that Harlow is wearing?  Exactly what type of seemingly multi-circular hosiery is she wearing?  Looks quite odd to me but then I am quite ignorant of fashion.

I was wondering about her nylons too.  Reminds me of the pattern that you see on cheap curtains that a lot of times come with apartments.

I don't think those are nylons.  Nylons weren't around while she was alive.  They look like lisle, or cotton, but not silk.  I remember seeing a lot of stockings that looked like that before World War II.
