Dothery
Yves looks just a little ill at ease there, doesn't he? Simone knew what was going on ... in an interview when he left the room for a minute she said, "He's afraid you'll ask me about Marilyn Monroe." midnight08
Two observations: 1.) I didn't know Simone Signoret was so old when she died (1821-1985). LOL. 2.) James Cagney was about 20 years older than his sister Jeanne. He was born in 1899 and she was born 1919. He was old enough to be her Dad. That's quite an age span between siblings. Dothery
Dirk Bogarde ... my hero! A wonderful actor, and a terrific writer as well. I loved all his books. He began writing when a publisher called him after seeing him on a talk show and was fascinated by his stories. He called himself, first and last, an entertainer. And he was. When I lived in England he was involved in a lawsuit to keep a girls' school from building right next to his property so they could overlook his garden. I think he won it. (Everybody wanted to be next to him!)

tinker
I have seen many photos of Marilyn Monroe because she rather fascinates me, but I think that must be one of the saddest because she looks so happy holding that little boy. And there were many things she was not going to have in life
