And my guess as to why the otherwise plain in appearance lady was found so irresistible by so many men was because they found her strong force-of-will personality appealing. And Constance Towers is still working, on General Hospital, as the evil matriarch of the Cassidines, who has the ability to blunk out your brain and program you to do terrible things. She did it to Jake! And now Jake doesn't know who he is or why he did the terrible things. (At least I think it's General Hospital. I watch three of them, very fast ... According to Benevides, they became a couple around 1960. Benevides gave up acting in 1963 and later became a production consultant for 21 of the Perry Mason TV movies. Together they owned and operated an orchid business and then a vineyard, in the Dry Creek Valley.
