And what a role Lillian Gish played in that wonderful picture!  I didn't know until recently that it was the only movie Charles Laughton ever directed.  What a loss.  It was amazing.  Shelley Winters was, of course, astounding as well.  But Mitchum?  Miraculous.  What a part for him.  I'll never forget it.  "Leaning, leaning ..."

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

This is where Mongo usually treats us to a pic of the honoree in his or her younger days with a caption such as "wouldbestar is 70" at the bottom.  I scanned one of me from thirty years ago onto my computer then transferred a copy to Microsoft Word but can't get it to transfer here.  All I get is a bunch of computer jargon. Since  this is the only 70th I'll ever get I wanted to play "Star".  If anybody but me really cares, and it's allowed, how do I do it?

Happy Birthday, wouldbestar!

Here's one way you can post your picture...

Go to the following image posting website I occasionally use to do this:

http://imgur.com/

At the top of your screen it'll then have a blue colored "Upload Images" button and click that.

It then will direct you to choose from the source your picture is being stored, "browse your computer" and then click that.

After then clicking on the file in your computer that your image is being stored, then click on where it says "open".and then that will send you back to that website's page which said "browse your computer", BUT instead then click on "Start upload".

After a few seconds your picture will appear and you'll see over to the right of it where it says "BBCode(forums). That will be the URL address for your image you'll then copy and paste after clicking the TCM website's Image posting icon that you always see located just above the box where you'd add some text in reply to another.

Be sure to leave off the "bracket img closed bracket" at the beginning and the "bracket slash img closed bracket" and at the end of that URL Address you've copied and pasted into the TCM website's picture loading pop-up(it should only start with a "http:...."), and once you enter that, your picture should come up in your reply function.
