What a week that was for the heavyweights! Fonda and  Stewart, for the leads and George Stone and Bruce Bennett for support.  Then this one starts out with Robert Montgomery; movie star,  WWII veteran and pioneer TV man.  (Fonda and Stewart also served).

As for Bruce, in this case the clothes did make the man;  He's okay in the loincloth but smokin' hot in that suit.  Hopefully the physique improved with age.

Carole Lombard and birthday boy Robert Montgomery filming Mr. and Mrs. Smith (1941)

To please a lady--

Hitchcock made his one and only screwball comedy at the request of his good friend Carole Lombard. Mr. And Mrs. Smith starred Carole with Robert Montgomery and Gene Raymond.

And not surprisingly, it ranks among the top screwballs.
