For the first time in 65 years, the ownership rights to the Bozo character have been sold to actor David Arquette. He’s been a life-long fan of the character and purchased the rights from Larry Harmon Pictures, who bought it from Capitol Records that created Bozo back in 1946.

There've been LOTS of Bozos  on TV over the years.  (politicians notwithstanding  ;) )  When I was a kid, a local Detroit show used to show Bozo cartoons, but with no actual person portraying the character.  Then years later,  that same station hired some guy to portray Bozo the Clown  on a Sunday morning show  with just him in the studio.  Then across the river, a Canadian broadcast of "Bozos Big Top " beginning in '67, caused the Detroit Bozo to change his character to "Oopsy" the clown.  The Canadian show had a live audience of noisy kids in the studio.

And, "WHOA NELLY, Butchie boy!"  Bozo has been around since before I was born!     Recall......
