And if the democrats have all the incontrovertible evidence they need to prove Trump orchestrated an insurrection than why do democrats need to go after congressional telephonic records?????

It’s called having an airtight case, covering all the bases.  The phone records will show who was in contact with who, and have that as circumstantial evidence.  They can build the case of these individuals plotting to overthrow the US government, plotting to capture/kill Pelosi and other congress members.!!  Now if they can actually hear what was said, the better.  This will make it less possible to their shady lawyers to try to muddy the issue to the point of having there be doubt sowed in the minds of the jurors.
